Mateo 19
1Cuando Jesús hubo acabado estos discursos partió de Galilea, y fue al territorio de Judea, más allá del Jordán. And it happened that, when Jesus had completed these words, he moved away from Galilee, and he arrived within the borders of Judea, across the Jordan.2Le siguieron muchas gentes, y las sanó allí. And great crowds followed him, and he healed them there.3Entonces, algunos fariseos, queriendo tentarlo, se acercaron a Él y le dijeron: “¿Es permitido al hombre repudiar a su mujer por cualquier causa?” And the Pharisees approached him, testing him, and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to separate from his wife, no matter what the cause?”4Él respondió y dijo: “¿No habéis leído que el Creador, desde el principio, varón y mujer los hizo?” And he said to them in response, “Have you not read that he who made man from the beginning, made them male and female?” And he said:5y dijo: “Por esto dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, y se unirá a su mujer, y serán los dos una sola carne”. “For this reason, a man shall separate from father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife, and these two shall become one flesh.6“De modo que ya no son dos, sino una carne. ¡Pues bien! ¡Lo que Dios juntó, el hombre no lo separe!” And so, now they are not two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.”7Dijéronle: “Entonces ¿por qué Moisés prescribió dar libelo de repudio y despacharla?” They said to him, “Then why did Moses command him to give a bill of divorce, and to separate?”8Respondioles: “A causa de la dureza de vuestros corazones, os permitió Moisés repudiar a vuestras mujeres; pero al principio no fue así. He said to them: “Although Moses permitted you to separate from your wives, due to the hardness of your heart, it was not that way from the beginning.9Mas Yo os digo, quien repudia a su mujer salvo el caso de adulterio, y se casa con otra, comete adulterio, y el que se casa con una repudiada, comete adulterio”. And I say to you, that whoever will have separated from his wife, except because of fornication, and who will have married another, commits adultery, and whoever will have married her who has been separated, commits adultery.”10Dijéronle sus discípulos: “Si tal es la condición del hombre con la mujer, no conviene casarse”. His disciples said to him, “If such is the case for a man with a wife, then it is not expedient to marry.”11Pero Él les respondió: “No todos pueden comprender esta palabra, sino solamente aquellos a quienes es dado. And he said to them: “Not everyone is able to grasp this word, but only those to whom it has been given.12Porque hay eunucos que nacieron así del seno materno, y hay eunucos hechos por los hombres, y hay eunucos que se hicieron tales a sí mismos por el reino de los cielos. El que pueda entender, entienda”. For there are chaste persons who were born so from their mother’s womb, and there are chaste persons who have been made so by men, and there are chaste persons who have made themselves chaste for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Whoever is able to grasp this, let him grasp it.”13Entonces le fueron presentados unos niños para que pusiese las manos sobre ellos, y orase (por ellos); pero los discípulos los reprendieron. Then they brought to him little children, so that he would place his hands upon them and pray. But the disciples rebuked them.14Mas Jesús les dijo: “Dejad a los niños venir a Mí, y no se lo impidáis, porque de los tales es el reino de los cielos”. Yet truly, Jesus said to them: “Allow the little children to come to me, and do not choose to prohibit them. For the kingdom of heaven is among such as these.”15Y les impuso las manos y después partió de allí. And when he had imposed his hands upon them, he went away from there.16Y he ahí que uno, acercándose a Él, le preguntó: “Maestro, ¿qué de bueno he de hacer para obtener la vida eterna?” And behold, someone approached and said to him, “Good Teacher, what good should I do, so that I may have eternal life?”17Respondiole: “¿Por qué me preguntas acerca de lo bueno? Uno solo es el bueno. Mas, si quieres entrar en la vida, observa los mandamientos”. And he said to him: “Why do you question me about what is good? One is good: God. But if you wish to enter into life, observe the commandments.”18“¿Cuáles?”, le replicó. Jesús le dijo: “No matarás; no cometerás adulterio; no robarás; no darás falso testimonio; He said to him, “Which?” And Jesus said: “You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony.19honra a tu padre y a tu madre, y: amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”. Honor your father and your mother. And, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”20Díjole entonces el joven: “Todo esto he observado; ¿qué me falta aún?” The young man said to him: “All these I have kept from my childhood. What is still lacking for me?”21Jesús le contestó: “Si quieres ser perfecto, vete a vender lo que posees, y dalo a los pobres, y tendrás un tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme”. Jesus said to him: “If you are willing to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and then you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.”22Al oír esta palabra, el joven se fue triste, porque tenía grandes bienes. And when the young man had heard this word, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.23Después dijo Jesús a sus discípulos: “En verdad, os digo: Un rico difícilmente entrará en el reino de los cielos. Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, I say to you, that the wealthy shall enter with difficulty into the kingdom of heaven.24Y vuelvo a deciros que más fácil es a un camello pasar por el ojo de una aguja, que a un rico entrar en el reino de Dios”. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for the wealthy to enter into the kingdom of heaven.”25Al oír esto, los discípulos se asombraron en gran manera y le dijeron: “¿Quién pues podrá salvarse?” And upon hearing this, the disciples wondered greatly, saying: “Then who will be able to be saved?”26Mas Jesús, fijando los ojos en ellos, les dijo: “Para los hombres eso es imposible, mas para Dios todo es posible”. But Jesus, gazing at them, said to them: “With men, this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible.”27Entonces Pedro respondió diciéndole: “Tú lo ves, nosotros hemos dejado todo, y te hemos seguido; ¿qué nos espera?” Then Peter responded by saying to him: “Behold, we have left behind all things, and we have followed you. So then, what will be for us?”28Jesús les dijo: “En verdad, os digo, vosotros que me habéis seguido, en la regeneración, cuando el Hijo del hombre se siente sobre su trono glorioso, os sentaréis, vosotros también, sobre doce tronos, y juzgaréis a las doce tribus de Israel. And Jesus said to them: “Amen I say to you, that at the resurrection, when the Son of man shall sit on the seat of his majesty, those of you who have followed me shall also sit on twelve seats, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.29Y todo el que dejare casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o mujer, o hijos, o campos por causa de mi nombre, recibirá el céntuplo y heredará la vida eterna. And anyone who has left behind home, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for the sake of my name, shall receive one hundred times more, and shall possess eternal life.30Y muchos primeros serán postreros, y (muchos) postreros, primeros”. But many of those who are first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”
