Mateo 25
1“En aquel entonces el reino de los cielos será semejante a diez vírgenes, que tomaron sus lámparas y salieron al encuentro del esposo. “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be like ten virgins, who, taking their lamps, went out to meet the groom and the bride.2Cinco de entre ellas eran necias, y cinco prudentes. But five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.3Las necias, al tomar sus lámparas, no tomaron aceite consigo, For the five foolish, having brought their lamps, did not take oil with them.4mientras que las prudentes tomaron aceite en sus frascos, además de sus lámparas. Yet truly, the prudent ones brought the oil, in their containers, with the lamps.5Como el esposo tardaba, todas sintieron sueño y se durmieran. Since the bridegroom was delayed, they all fell asleep, and they were sleeping.6Mas a medianoche se oyó un grito: “¡He aquí al esposo! ¡Salid a su encuentro!” But in the middle of the night, a cry went out: ‘Behold, the groom is arriving. Go out to meet him.’7Entonces todas aquellas vírgenes se levantaron y arreglaron sus lámparas. Then all those virgins rose up and trimmed their lamps.8Mas las necias dijeron a las prudentes: “Dadnos de vuestro aceite, porque nuestras lámparas se apagan”. But the foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give to us from your oil, for our lamps are being extinguished.’9Replicaron las prudentes y dijeron: “No sea que no alcance para nosotras y para vosotras; id más bien a los vendedores y comprad para vosotras”. The prudent responded by saying, ‘Lest perhaps there may not be enough for us and for you, it would be better for you to go to the vendors and buy some for yourselves.’10Mientras ellas iban a comprar, llegó el esposo; y las que estaban prontas, entraron con él a las bodas, y se cerró la puerta. But while they were going to buy it, the groom arrived. And those who were prepared entered with him to the wedding, and the door was closed.11Después llegaron las otras vírgenes y dijeron: “¡Señor, señor, ábrenos!” Yet truly, at the very end, the remaining virgins also arrived, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’12Pero él respondió y dijo: “En verdad, os digo, no os conozco”. But he responded by saying, ‘Amen I say to you, I do not know you.’13Velad, pues, porque no sabéis ni el día ni la hora”. And so you must be vigilant, because you do not know the day or the hour.14“Es como un hombre, que al hacer un viaje a otro país, llamó a sus siervos, y les encomendó sus haberes. For it is like a man setting out on a long journey, who called his servants and delivered to them his goods.15A uno dio cinco talentos, a otro dos, a otro uno, a cada cual según su capacidad; luego partió. And to one he gave five talents, and to another two, yet to another he gave one, to each according to his own ability. And promptly, he set out.16En seguida, el que había recibido cinco talentos se fue a negociar con ellos, y ganó otros cinco. Then he who had received five talents went out, and he made use of these, and he gained another five.17Igualmente el de los dos, ganó otros dos. And similarly, he who had received two gained another two.18Mas el que había recibido uno, se fue a hacer un hoyo en la tierra, y escondió allí el dinero de su señor. But he who had received one, going out, dug into the earth, and he hid the money of his lord.19Al cabo de mucho tiempo, volvió el señor de aquellos siervos, y ajustó cuentas con ellos. Yet truly, after a long time, the lord of those servants returned and he settled accounts with them.20Presentándose el que había recibido cinco talentos, trajo otros cinco, y dijo: “Señor, cinco talentos me entregaste; mira, otros cinco gané”. And when he who had received five talents approached, he brought another five talents, saying: ‘Lord, you delivered five talents to me. Behold, I have increased it by another five.’21Díjole su señor: “¡Bien! siervo bueno y fiel; en lo poco has sido fiel, te pondré al frente de lo mucho; entra en el gozo de tu señor”. His lord said to him: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful over a few things, I will appoint you over many things. Enter into the gladness of your lord.’22A su turno, el de los dos talentos, se presentó y dijo: “Señor, dos talentos me entregaste; mira, otros dos gané”. Then he who had received two talents also approached, and he said: ‘Lord, you delivered two talents to me. Behold, I have gained another two.’23Díjole su señor: “¡Bien! siervo bueno y fiel; en lo poco has sido fiel, te pondré al frente de lo mucho; entra en el gozo de tu señor”. His lord said to him: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful over a few things, I will appoint you over many things. Enter into the gladness of your lord.’24Mas llegándose el que había recibido un talento, dijo: “Tengo conocido que eres un hombre duro, que quieres cosechar allí donde no sembraste, y recoger allí donde nada echaste. Then he who had received one talent, approaching, said: ‘Lord, I know that you are a hard man. You reap where you have not sown, and gather where you have not scattered.25Por lo cual, en mi temor, me fui a esconder tu talento en tierra. Helo aquí; tienes lo que es tuyo”. And so, being afraid, I went out and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’26Mas el señor le respondió y dijo: “Siervo malo y perezoso, sabías que yo cosecho allí donde no sembré y recojo allí donde nada eché. But his lord said to him in response: ‘You evil and lazy servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered.27Debías, pues, haber entregado mi dinero a los banqueros, y a mi regreso yo lo habría recobrado con sus réditos. Therefore, you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and then, at my arrival, at least I would have received what is mine with interest.28Quitadle, por tanto, el talento, y dádselo al que tiene los diez talentos. And so, take the talent away from him and give it to the one who has ten talents.29Porque a todo aquel que tiene, se le dará, y tendrá sobreabundancia; pero al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado. For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he shall have in abundance. But from him who has not, even what he seems to have, shall be taken away.30Y a ese siervo inútil, echadlo a las tinieblas de afuera. Allí será el llanto y el rechinar de dientes”. And cast that useless servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’31“Cuando el Hijo del Hombre vuelva en su gloria, acompañado de todos sus ángeles, se sentará sobre su trono de gloria, But when the Son of man will have arrived in his majesty, and all the Angels with him, then he will sit upon the seat of his majesty.32y todas las naciones serán congregadas delante de Él, y separará a los hombres, unos de otros, como el pastor separa las ovejas de los machos cabríos. And all the nations shall be gathered together before him. And he shall separate them from one another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.33Y colocará las ovejas a su derecha, y los machos cabríos a su izquierda. And he shall station the sheep, indeed, on his right, but the goats on his left.34Entonces el rey dirá a los de su derecha: “Venid, benditos de mi Padre, tomad posesión del reino preparado para vosotros desde la fundación del mundo. Then the King shall say to those who will be on his right: ‘Come, you blessed of my Father. Possess the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.35Porque tuve hambre, y me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y me disteis de beber; era forastero y me acogisteis; For I was hungry, and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in;36estaba desnudo, y me vestisteis; estaba enfermo, y me visitasteis; estaba preso, y vinisteis a verme”. naked, and you covered me; sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.’37Entonces los justos le responderán, diciendo: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, y te dimos de comer, o sediento, y te dimos de beber? Then the just will answer him, saying: ‘Lord, when have we seen you hungry, and fed you; thirsty, and given you drink?38¿Cuándo te vimos forasteros, y te acogimos; o desnudo, y te vestimos? And when have we seen you a stranger, and taken you in? Or naked, and covered you?39¿Cuándo te vimos enfermo o en la cárcel, y fuimos a verte?” Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and visit to you?’40Y respondiendo el rey les dirá: “En verdad, os digo: en cuanto lo hicisteis a uno solo, el más pequeño de estos mis hermanos, a Mí lo hicisteis”. And in response, the King shall say to them, ‘Amen I say to you, whenever you did this for one of these, the least of my brothers, you did it for me.’41Entonces dirá también a los de su izquierda: “Alejaos de Mí, malditos, al fuego eterno; preparado para el diablo y sus ángeles. Then he shall also say, to those who will be on his left: ‘Depart from me, you accursed ones, into the eternal fire, which was prepared for the devil and his angels.42Porque tuve hambre, y no me disteis de comer; tuve sed, y no me disteis de beber; For I was hungry, and you did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and you did not give me to drink;43era forastero, y no me acogisteis; estaba desnudo y no me vestisteis; enfermo y en la cárcel y no me visitasteis”. I was a stranger and you did not take me in; naked, and you did not cover me; sick and in prison, and you did not visit me.’44Entonces responderán ellos también: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, sediento, forastero, desnudo, enfermo o en la cárcel, y no te asistimos?” Then they will also answer him, saying: ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to you?’45Y Él les responderá: “En verdad, os digo: en cuanto habéis dejado de hacerlo a uno de estos, los más pequeños, tampoco a Mí lo hicisteis”. Then he shall respond to them by saying: ‘Amen I say to you, whenever you did not do it to one of these least, neither did you do it to me.’46Y estos irán al suplicio eterno, mas los justos a la eterna vida”. And these shall go into eternal punishment, but the just shall go into eternal life.”
