1Subiendo a la barca, pasó al otro lado y vino a su ciudad. And climbing into a boat, he crossed the sea, and he arrived at his own city.2Y he aquí que le presentaron un paralítico, postrado en una camilla. Al ver la fe de ellos, dijo Jesús al paralítico: “Confía, hijo, te son perdonados los pecados”. And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, “Be strengthened in faith, son; your sins are forgiven you.”3Entonces algunos escribas comenzaron a decir interiormente: “Este blasfema”. And behold, some of the scribes said within themselves, “He is blaspheming.”4Mas Jesús, viendo sus pensamientos, dijo: “¿Por qué pensáis mal en vuestros corazones? ¿Qué es más fácil, decir: “Te son perdonados los pecados”, o decir: And when Jesus had perceived their thoughts, he said: “Why do you think such evil in your hearts?5“Levántate y camina? Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk?’6¡Y bien! para que sepáis que tiene poder el Hijo del hombre, sobre la tierra, de perdonar pecados —dijo, entonces, al paralítico—: “Levántate, cárgate la camilla y vete a tu casa”. But, so that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he then said to the paralytic, “Rise up, take up your bed, and go into your house.”7Y se levantó y se volvió a su casa. And he arose and went into his house.8Al ver esto, quedaron las muchedumbres poseídas de temor y glorificaron a Dios que tal potestad había dado en favor de los hombres. Then the crowd, seeing this, was frightened, and they glorified God, who gave such power to men.9Pasando de allí, vio Jesús a un hombre llamado Mateo, sentado en la recaudación de los tributos, y le dijo: “Sígueme”. Y él se levantó y le siguió. And when Jesus passed on from there, he saw, sitting at the tax office, a man named Matthew. And he said to him, “Follow me.” And rising up, he followed him.10Y sucedió que estando Él a la mesa en la casa de Mateo, muchos publicanos y pecadores vinieron a reclinarse con Jesús y sus discípulos. And it happened that, as he was sitting down to eat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners arrived, and they sat down to eat with Jesus and his disciples.11Viendo lo cual, los fariseos dijeron a los discípulos: “¿Por qué vuestro maestro come con los publicanos y los pecadores?”. And the Pharisees, seeing this, said to his disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”12Él los oyó y dijo: “No son los sanos los que tienen necesidad de médico, sino los enfermos. But Jesus, hearing this, said: “It is not those who are healthy who are in need of a physician, but those who have maladies.13Id, pues, y aprended lo que significa: “Misericordia quiero y no sacrificio”. Porque no he venido a llamar justos, sino pecadores”. So then, go out and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the just, but sinners.”14Entonces, se acercaron a Él los discípulos de Juan y le dijeron: “¿Por qué nosotros y los fariseos ayunamos mucho, y tus discípulos no ayunan?” Then the disciples of John drew near to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast frequently, but your disciples do not fast?”15Respondioles Jesús: “¿Pueden los hijos del esposo afligirse mientras el esposo está con ellos? Pero vendrán días en que el esposo les será quitado, y entonces ayunarán. And Jesus said to them: “How can the sons of the groom mourn, while the groom is still with them? But the days will arrive when the groom will be taken away from them. And then they shall fast.16Nadie pone un remiendo de paño nuevo en un vestido viejo, porque aquel pedazo entero tira del vestido, y se hace peor la rotura. For no one would sew a patch of new cloth onto an old garment. For it pulls its fullness away from the garment, and the tear is made worse.17Ni tampoco se echa vino nuevo en cueros viejos; de otra manera, los cueros revientan, y el vino se derrama, y los cueros se pierden; sino que el vino nuevo se echa en cueros nuevos, y así ambos se conservan”. Neither do they pour new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wineskins rupture, and the wine pours out, and the wineskins are destroyed. Instead, they pour new wine into new wineskins. And so, both are preserved.”18Mientras les decía estas cosas, un magistrado se le acercó, se prosternó y le dijo: “Mi hija acaba de morir, pero ven a poner sobre ella tu mano y revivirá”. As he was speaking these things to them, behold, a certain ruler approached and adored him, saying: “Lord, my daughter has recently passed away. But come and impose your hand upon her, and she will live.”19Jesús se levantó y lo siguió; y también sus discípulos. And Jesus, rising up, followed him, with his disciples.20Y he ahí que una mujer que padecía un flujo de sangre hacía doce años, se aproximó a Él por detrás y tocó la franja de su vestido. And behold, a woman, who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years, approached from behind and touched the hem of his garment.21Porque ella se decía: “Con que toque solamente su vestido, quedaré sana”. For she said within herself, “If I will touch even his garment, I shall be saved.”22Mas Jesús, volviéndose, la miró y dijo: “Confianza, hija, tu fe te ha sanado”. Y quedó sana desde aquella hora. But Jesus, turning and seeing her, said: “Be strengthened in faith, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.23Cuando Jesús llegó a la casa del magistrado, vio a los flautistas, y al gentío que hacía alboroto, And when Jesus had arrived in the house of the ruler, and he had seen the musicians and the tumultuous crowd,24y dijo: “¡Retiraos! La niña no ha muerto sino que duerme”. Y se reían de Él. he said, “Depart. For the girl is not dead, but asleep.” And they derided him.25Después, echada fuera la turba, entró Él, tomó la mano de la niña, y esta se levantó. And when the crowd had been sent away, he entered. And he took her by the hand. And the girl rose up.26Y la noticia del hecho se difundió por toda aquella región. And the news of this went out to that entire land.27Cuando salía Jesús de allí, dos ciegos lo siguieron, gritando: “¡Ten piedad de nosotros, Hijo de David!” And as Jesus passed from there, two blind men followed him, crying out and saying, “Take pity on us, Son of David.”28Y al llegar a la casa, los ciegos se le acercaron, y Jesús les dijo: “¿Creéis que puedo hacer eso?” Respondiéronle: “Sí, Señor”. And when he had arrived at the house, the blind men approached him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you trust that I am able to do this for you?” They say to him, “Certainly, Lord.”29Entonces les tocó los ojos diciendo: “Os sea hecho según vuestra fe”. Y sus ojos se abrieron. Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith, so let it be done for you.”30Y Jesús les ordenó rigurosamente: “¡Mirad que nadie lo sepa!”. And their eyes were opened. And Jesus warned them, saying, “See to it that no one knows of this.”31Pero ellos, luego que salieron, hablaron de Él por toda aquella tierra. But going out, they spread the news of it to all that land.32Cuando ellos hubieron salido, le presentaron un mudo endemoniado. Then, when they had departed, behold, they brought him a man who was mute, having a demon.33Y echado el demonio, habló el mudo, y las multitudes, llenas de admiración, se pusieron a decir: “Jamás se ha visto cosa parecida en Israel”. And after the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds wondered, saying, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel.”34Pero los fariseos decían: “Por obra del príncipe de los demonios lanza a los demonios”. But the Pharisees said, “By the prince of demons does he cast out demons.”35Y Jesús recorría todas las ciudades y las aldeas, enseñando en sus sinagogas y proclamando la Buena Nueva del Reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia. And Jesus traveled throughout all of the cities and towns, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every illness and every infirmity.36Y viendo a las muchedumbres, tuvo compasión de ellas, porque estaban como ovejas que no tienen pastor, esquilmadas y abatidas. Then, seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them, because they were distressed and were reclining, like sheep without a shepherd.37Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: “La mies es grande, mas los obreros son pocos. Then he said to his disciples: “The harvest indeed is great, but the laborers are few.38Rogad pues al Dueño de la mies que envíe obreros a su mies”. Therefore, petition the Lord of the harvest, so that he may sent out laborers to his harvest.”
