Nevertheless, they shall offer incense to the Lord for themselves, and for sin, as well as for their error.²⁶Así se le perdonará a todo el pueblo de los hijos de Israel, y al extranjero residente en medio de vosotros, pues la ignorancia fue del pueblo entero. And it shall be forgiven all the people of the sons of Israel, as well as the newcomers who sojourn among them, for it is the culpability of all the people through neglect.²⁷Si un particular pecare por ignorancia, traerá una cabra primal en sacrificio por el pecado; But if one soul will have sinned by not knowing, he shall offer a one-year-old she-goat for his sin.²⁸y el sacerdote hará expiación ante Yahvé por el que pecó por ignorancia, cometiendo un pecado por error. One law shall be for all who sin by ignorance, as much for natives as for newcomers.³⁰Pero quien pecare con mano alzada, sea de los de vuestro pueblo, o de los extranjeros, ultraja a Yahvé; ese tal será extirpado de en medio de su pueblo; Yet truly, the soul who commits any of these acts through arrogance, whether he is a citizen or a sojourner, because he has rebelled against the Lord, shall perish from among his people.³¹por cuanto ha despreciado la palabra dé Yahvé y quebrantado su mandamiento. Tal hombre será exterminado; recaiga sobre él su iniquidad.” For he has despised the word of the Lord, and he has nullified his precept. For this reason, he shall be destroyed, and he shall bear his iniquity.”³²Mientras los hijos de Israel estaban en el desierto, hallaron a un hombre recogiendo leña en día de sábado. And it happened that, when the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, and they had found a man collecting wood on the day of the Sabbath,³³Los que le hallaron recogiendo leña le llevaron ante Moisés y Aarón y todo el pueblo; they brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to the whole multitude.³⁴y lo encerraron, porque no había sido determinado aún lo que se había de hacer con él. And they enclosed him in a prison, not knowing what they should do with him.³⁵Entonces dijo Yahvé a Moisés: “Ese hombre muera irremisiblemente; todo el pueblo ha de matarlo a pedradas fuera del campamento.” And the Lord said to Moses, “Let that man be put to death; let the entire crowd crush him with stones, outside the camp.”³⁶Le sacaron, pues, fuera del campamento y le apedrearon; y así murió, como Yahvé había mandado a Moisés. And when they had led him out, they overwhelmed him with stones, and he died, just as the Lord had instructed.³⁷Yahvé habló a Moisés, diciendo: The Lord also said to Moses:³⁸“Habla a los hijos de Israel y diles que en adelante se hagan flecos en los ángulos de sus vestidos, y que pongan sobre el fleco de cada ángulo un cordón de jacinto. “Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall tell them to make for themselves hems at the corners of their cloaks, placing in them ribbons of hyacinth,³⁹El fleco os servirá para este fin: que al mirarlo os acordéis de todos los mandamientos de Yahvé, a fin de cumplirlos, y para que no vayáis tras los deseos de vuestro corazón y de vuestros ojos, por los cuales os dejáis arrastrar a la infidelidad. so that, when they see these, they may remember all the commandments of the Lord, and they may not follow their own thoughts and eyes, fornicating in various ways,⁴⁰Así os acordaréis, y cumpliréis todos mis mandamientos, y seréis santos para vuestro Dios. but instead, they, being more mindful of the precepts of the Lord, may do them and may be holy to their God.⁴¹Yo soy Yahvé, vuestro Dios, que os he sacado de la tierra de Egipto, para ser el Dios vuestro.
