1Yahvé habló con Moisés, diciendo: And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:2“Habla a Aarón y dile: Coloca las siete lámparas de tal manera que despidan su luz hacia la parte frontal del candelabro.” “Speak to Aaron, and you shall say to him: When you place the seven lamps, let the lampstand be set up on the south side. Therefore, give this instruction: that the lamps should look out from the region opposite the north, toward the table of the bread of the presence; they shall give light opposite that area, toward the area that the lampstand faces.”3Así lo hizo Aarón; colocó las lámparas de tal manera que miraban hacia la parte frontal del candelabro, así como Yahvé había ordenado a Moisés. And Aaron did so, and he placed the lamps on the lampstand, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.4El candelabro era hecho de oro labrado a martillo; tanto su pie como sus flores eran labrados a martillo. Moisés lo había hecho conforme al modelo que Yahvé le había mostrado. Now this was the workmanship of the lampstand: it was of ductile gold, both the main shaft and all that originated from both sides of the branches. According to the example that the Lord revealed to Moses, so did he make the lampstand.5Habló Yahvé a Moisés, diciendo: And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:6“Toma a los levitas de en medio de los hijos de Israel y purifícalos. “Take the Levites from the midst of the sons of Israel, and you shall purify them7Los purificarás de esta manera: Harás sobre ellos una aspersión con agua expiatoria; luego pasen ellos la navaja por todo su cuerpo, laven sus vestidos y purifíquense; according to this ritual: Let them be sprinkled with the water of illumination, and let them shave off all the hairs of their body. And when they have washed their garments and have been cleansed,8y tomarán un novillo con su ofrenda de flor de harina amasada con aceite; tú, entretanto, tomarás otro novillo para el sacrificio por el pecado. they shall take an ox from the herd, with its libation of fine wheat flour sprinkled with oil; then you shall receive another ox from the herd for sin.9Después mandarás que se presenten los levitas ante el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, donde reunirás a toda la Congregación de los hijos de Israel. And you shall bring forward the Levites before the tabernacle of the covenant, calling together all the multitude of the sons of Israel.10“Cuando presentes a los levitas ante Yahvé, impondrán los hijos de Israel sus manos sobre los levitas; And when the Levites are before the Lord, the sons of Israel shall place their hands upon them.11y Aarón ofrecerá a los levitas como ofrenda mecida ante Yahvé de parte de los hijos de Israel, y así serán iniciados en el servicio de Yahvé; And Aaron shall offer the Levites as a gift in the sight of the Lord, from the sons of Israel, so that they may serve in his ministry.12Luego los levitas pondrán sus manos sobre la cabeza de los novillos, que tú ofrecerás, uno en sacrificio por el pecado, y el otro en holocausto a Yahvé, para hacer expiación por los levitas. Likewise, the Levites shall place their hands upon the heads of the oxen; you shall make use of one of these for sin, and the other as a holocaust to the Lord, so that you may intercede for them.13Harás que los levitas estén en pie delante de Aarón y sus hijos, y los ofrecerás como ofrenda mecida a Yahvé. And you shall set the Levites in the sight of Aaron and his sons, and you shall consecrate those being offered to the Lord,14De esta manera separarás a los levitas de en medio de los hijos de Israel, y serán míos. and you shall separate them from the midst of the sons of Israel, so that they may be for me.15Hecho esto, los levitas empezarán a servir en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión. Así los purificarás, y los ofrecerás como ofrenda mecida; And after this, they shall enter the tabernacle of the covenant, in order to serve me. And so shall you purify and consecrate them as an oblation to the Lord. For they were given to me as a gift from the sons of Israel.16porque me han sido donados y entregados por los hijos de Israel. Yo los he tomado para Mí en lugar de todos los que abren la matriz, en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel. I have accepted them in place of the firstborn which open every womb in Israel.17Pues míos son todos los primogénitos de entre los hijos de Israel, tanto de hombres como de animales. El día en que herí a todo primogénito en la tierra de Egipto, los consagre para Mí. For all the firstborn of the sons of Israel, as much from men as from beasts, are mine. From the day when I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I have sanctified them to myself.18He tomado a los levitas como sustitutos de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel. And I have taken the Levites in place of all the firstborn of the sons of Israel.19Y he donado los levitas enteramente a Aarón y a sus hijos, de en medio de los hijos de Israel, para que hagan el servicio de los hijos de Israel en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión y la expiación de los hijos de Israel, a fin de que los hijos de Israel no sean castigados por acercarse al Santuario.” And I have delivered them as a gift to Aaron and his sons, from the midst of the people, in order to serve me, for Israel, in the tabernacle of the covenant, and in order to pray for them, lest there be a scourge among the people, if they were to dare to approach to my Sanctuary.”20Moisés y Aarón y toda la Congregación de los hijos de Israel hicieron así con los levitas. Todo cuanto Yahvé había mandado a Moisés, respecto de los levitas, así hicieron con ellos los hijos de Israel. And Moses and Aaron, and all the multitude of the sons of Israel, accomplished all that the Lord had commanded Moses concerning the Levites.21Se purificaron, pues, los levitas y lavaron sus vestidos; y Aarón los ofreció en ofrenda mecida ante Yahvé e hizo expiación por ellos para purificarlos. And they were purified, and they washed their garments. And Aaron lifted them up in the sight of the Lord, and he prayed for them,22Después de esto entraron los levitas en el servicio del Tabernáculo de la Reunión, a las órdenes de Aarón y sus hijos. Como Yahvé había mandado a Moisés con respecto a los levitas, así hicieron con ellos. so that, having been purified, they might enter to their duties in the tabernacle of the covenant before Aaron and his sons. Just as the Lord had instructed Moses about the Levites, so was it done.23Habló Yahvé a Moisés, diciendo: And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:24“Esto es lo que ha de hacer el levita: Desde los veinte y cinco años para arriba empezará a ejercer su función en el servicio del Tabernáculo de la Reunión; “This is the law of the Levites: From twenty-five years and above, they shall enter to minister in the tabernacle of the covenant.25y a los cincuenta dejará de ejercer su función, y no prestará más servicio. And when they will have completed the fiftieth year of age, they shall cease to serve.26Podrá todavía ayudar a sus hermanos en el Tabernáculo de la Reunión, ejerciendo una u otra función, pero no hará más servicio. Así harás con los levitas en cuanto a sus funciones.” And they shall be the ministers of their brothers in the tabernacle of the covenant, in order to care for the things that have been commended to them, but not to perform the works themselves. So shall you assign the Levites in their duties.”
