Filemón 1
1Pablo, prisionero de Cristo Jesús, y el hermano Timoteo, al querido Filemón, colaborador nuestro, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, a brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow laborer,2y a Apia, la hermana, y a Arquipo nuestro compañero de armas, y a la Iglesia que está en tu casa: and to Apphia, most beloved sister, and to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church which is in your house.3gracia a vosotros y paz, de parte de Dios Nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesucristo. Grace and peace to you, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.4Doy gracias a mi Dios, haciendo sin cesar memoria de ti en mis oraciones, I give thanks to my God, always keeping remembrance of you in my prayers,5porque oigo hablar de tu caridad y de la fe que tienes para el Señor Jesús y para con todos los santos; (for I am hearing of your charity and faith, which you have in the Lord Jesus and with all the saints)6a fin de que la participación de tu fe sea eficaz para que se conozca todo el bien que hay en vosotros en relación con Cristo. so that the participation of your faith may become evident by the recognition of every good work which is in you in Christ Jesus.7Tuve mucho gozo y consuelo con motivo de tu caridad, por cuanto los corazones de los santos han hallado alivio por ti, hermano. For I have found great joy and consolation in your charity, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.8Por lo cual, aunque tengo toda libertad en Cristo para mandarte lo que conviene, Because of this, I have enough confidence in Christ Jesus to command you concerning certain things,9prefiero, sin embargo, rogarte a título de amor, siendo como soy, Pablo, el anciano y ahora además prisionero de Cristo Jesús. but I beg you instead, for the sake of charity, since you are so much like Paul: an old man and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.10Te ruego, pues, por mi hijo Onésimo, a quien he engendrado entre cadenas, I beg you, on behalf of my son, whom I have begotten in my chains, Onesimus.11el cual en un tiempo te fue inútil, mas ahora es muy útil para ti y para mí. In times past, he was useless to you, but now he is useful both to me and to you.12Te lo devuelvo; tú, empero, recíbelo a él como a mi propio corazón. So I have sent him back to you. And may you receive him like my own heart.13Quisiera retenerlo junto a mí, para que en tu nombre me sirviese en las cadenas por el Evangelio; I myself wanted to retain him with me, so that he might minister to me, on your behalf, while I am in the chains of the Gospel.14pero sin consultarte no quise hacer nada, para que tu beneficio no fuese como forzado, sino voluntario. But I was willing to do nothing without your counsel, so as not to make use of your good deed as if out of necessity, but only willingly.15Quizás por esto él se ha apartado por un tiempo, a fin de que lo tengas para siempre, So perhaps, then, he departed from you for a time, so that you might receive him again for eternity,16no ya como siervo, sino más que siervo como hermano amado, amado para mí en particular, pero ¡cuánto más para ti, no solo en la carne sino en el Señor! no longer as a servant, but, in place of a servant, a most beloved brother, especially to me: but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord!17Si pues me tienes a mí por compañero, acógelo como a mí mismo. Therefore, if you hold me to be a companion, receive him as you would me.18Si en algo te ha perjudicado o te debe, ponlo a mi cuenta. But if he has harmed you in any way, or if he is in your debt, charge it to me.19Yo Pablo lo escribo con mi propia mano; yo lo pagaré, por no decirte que tú, tú mismo, te me debes. I, Paul, have written this with my own hand: I will repay. And I need not tell you, that you are also in debt yourself, to me.20Sí, hermano, obtenga yo de ti gozo en el Señor, alivia mi corazón en Cristo. So it is, brother. May I delight with you in the Lord! Refresh my heart in Christ.21Te escribo, confiando en tu obediencia, sabiendo que harás todavía más de lo que digo. I have written to you, trusting in your obedience, knowing, too, that you will do even more than what I say.22Y al mismo tiempo prepara hospedaje para mí; pues espero que por vuestras oraciones os he de ser restituido. But also, at once, prepare a lodging for me. For I am hoping, through your prayers, to present myself to you.23Te saluda Epafras, mi compañero de cautiverio, en Cristo Jesús, Greet Epaphras, my fellow captive in Christ Jesus,24y Marcos, Aristarco, Demas y Lucas, mis colaboradores. and Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my helpers.25La gracia del Señor Jesucristo sea con vuestro espíritu.
