¹Por tanto, hermanos míos, amados y muy deseados, gozo mío y corona mía, manteneos así en el Señor: amados. And so, my most beloved and most desired brothers, my joy and my crown: stand firm in this way, in the Lord, most beloved.²Ruego a Evodia, y ruego a Síntique, que tengan el mismo sentir en el Señor. I ask Euodia, and I beg Syntyche, to have the same understanding in the Lord.³Y a ti también te ruego, noble compañero, que ayudes a estas que lucharon por el Evangelio conmigo y con Clemente y los demás colaboradores míos, cuyos nombres están en el libro de la vida. And I also ask you, as my genuine companion, to assist those women who have labored with me in the Gospel, with Clement and the rest of my assistants, whose names are in the Book of Life.⁴Alegraos en el Señor siempre; otra vez lo diré: Alegraos. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say, rejoice.⁵Sea de todos conocida vuestra sencillez. El Señor está cerca. Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is near.⁶No os inquietéis por cosa alguna, sino que en todo vuestras peticiones se den a conocer a Dios mediante la oración y la súplica, acompañadas de acción de gracias. Be anxious about nothing. But in all things, with prayer and supplication, with acts of thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God.⁷Y entonces la paz de Dios, que sobrepuja todo entendimiento, custodiará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús. And so shall the peace of God, which exceeds all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.⁸Por lo demás, hermanos, cuantas cosas sean conformes a la verdad, cuantas serias, cuantas justas, cuantas puras, cuantas amables, cuantas de buena conversación, si hay virtud alguna, si alguna alabanza, a tales cosas atended. Concerning the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is chaste, whatever is just, whatever is holy, whatever is worthy to be loved, whatever is of good repute, if there is any virtue, if there is any praiseworthy discipline: meditate on these.⁹Lo que habéis aprendido y aceptado y oído y visto en mí, practicadlo; y el Dios de la paz será con vosotros. All the things that you have learned and accepted and heard and seen in me, do these. And so shall the God of peace be with you.¹⁰Me regocijé grandemente en el Señor de que por fin retoñasteis en vuestros sentimientos hacia mí. A la verdad estabais solícitos, pero no teníais la oportunidad. Now I rejoice in the Lord exceedingly, because finally, after some time, your feelings for me have flourished again, just as you formerly felt. For you had been preoccupied.¹¹No os lo digo porque tenga escasez, pues he aprendido a estar contento con lo que tengo. I am not saying this as if out of need. For I have learned that, in whatever state I am, it is sufficient.¹²Sé vivir en humildad, y sé vivir en abundancia; en todo y por todo estoy avezado a tener hartura y a sufrir hambre; a tener sobra y a tener falta. I know how to be humbled, and I know how to abound. I am prepared for anything, anywhere: either to be full or to be hungry, either to have abundance or to endure scarcity.¹³Todo lo puedo en Aquel que me conforta. Everything is possible in him who has strengthened me.¹⁴Sin embargo, habéis hecho bien en haceros copartícipes de mi estrechez. Yet truly, you have done well by sharing in my tribulation.¹⁵Bien sabéis también vosotros, oh filipenses, que en los comienzos del Evangelio, cuando salí de Macedonia, ninguna Iglesia abrió conmigo cuentas de dar y recibir, sino vosotros solos. But you also know, O Philippians, that at the beginning of the Gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not a single church shared with me in the plan of giving and receiving, except you alone.¹⁶Pues hasta en Tesalónica, más de una vez enviasteis con qué atender mi necesidad. For you even sent to Thessalonica, once, and then a second time, for what was useful to me.¹⁷No es que busque yo la dádiva; lo que deseo es que el rédito abunde a cuenta vuestra. It is not that I am seeking a gift. Instead, I seek the fruit that abounds to your benefit.¹⁸Tengo de todo y me sobra. Estoy repleto, después de recibir de Epafrodito las cosas enviadas de vuestra parte, como olor suavísimo, sacrificio acepto, agradable a Dios. But I have everything in abundance. I have been filled up, having received from Epaphroditus the things that you sent; this is an odor of sweetness, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.¹⁹El Dios mío atenderá toda necesidad vuestra, conforme a la riqueza suya, con gloria en Cristo Jesús. And may my God fulfill all your desires, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.²⁰Gloria al Dios y Padre nuestro por los siglos de los siglos. Amén. And to God our Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.²¹Saludad a todos los santos en Cristo Jesús. Os saludan los hermanos que están conmigo.
