Proverbios 24
1No tengas envidia de los hombres malvados; ni ansia de estar con ellos; Do not imitate evil men, nor desire to be among them.2porque su corazón maquina rapiñas, y sus labios hablan para dañar. For their mind meditates on robberies, and their lips speak deceptions.3Con la sabiduría se edifica una casa, y con la prudencia se afirma. By wisdom shall a house be built, and by prudence shall it be strengthened.4Con la inteligencia se hinchen sus cámaras de todo lo más precioso y deseable. By doctrine, the storerooms shall be filled with every substance that is precious and most beautiful.5El hombre sabio está lleno de fuerza; el que tiene sabiduría aumenta su poder. A wise man is strong, and a well-taught man is robust and valiant.6Pues con prudentes medidas puedes ganar la guerra, y donde hay muchos consejeros allí está la victoria. For war is undertaken in an orderly manner, and safety shall be where there are many counsels.7Cosa demasiado alta es para el necio la sabiduría; no abrirá él en el foro su boca. Wisdom is beyond the foolish; at the gate he will not open his mouth.8Quien medita cómo hacer daño será llamado intrigante. Whoever intends to do evil shall be called foolish.9El afán del insensato consiste en pecar, y abominable para los hombres es el maldiciente. The intention of the foolish is sin. And the detractor is an abomination among men.10Si desfalleces en el día de la prueba, tu fortaleza es poca cosa. If you despair, being weary in the day of anguish, your strength will be diminished.11Libra a los que son llevados a la muerte; a los que andan vacilando al degolladero, sálvalos. Rescue those who are led away to death. And do not cease from delivering those who are dragged away to a violent death.12Si dijeres: “¿Cómo saberlo?” ¿Acaso no lo ve Aquel que pesa los corazones? If you would say: “I do not have sufficient strength.” He who inspects the heart, the same one understands, and nothing slips past the one who preserves your soul. So, too, is the doctrine of wisdom to your soul. When you have found it, you will have hope in the end, and your hope shall not perish.15No pongas, malvado, asechanzas a la morada del justo, ni devastes el lugar de su reposo. Those who say to the impious, “You are just,” shall be cursed by the people, and the tribes shall detest them.25Y aquellos que lo condenan, serán alabados, y sobre ellos vienen ricas bendiciones. Those who argue against the impious shall be praised, and a blessing shall come upon them.26Los labios besa quien responde palabras rectas. He shall kiss the lips, who responds with upright words.27Haz con esmero tu trabajo de afuera, aplicándolo a tu campo, y luego podrás edificar tu casa. Prepare your outdoor work, and diligently cultivate your field, so that afterward, you may build your house.28No seas de ligero testigo contra tu prójimo; ¿quieres acaso engañarlo con tus labios? Do not be a witness without cause against your neighbor.
