1Cántico gradual. De David. Si Yahvé no hubiera estado con nosotros —dígalo ahora Israel— A Canticle in steps. If the Lord had not been with us, let Israel now say it:2si no hubiera estado Yahvé de nuestra parte cuando los hombres se levantaron contra nosotros, if the Lord had not been with us, when men rose up against us,3nos habrían tragado vivos al inflamarse contra nosotros su furor; perhaps they would have swallowed us alive. When their fury was enraged against us,4entonces nos habrían sumergido las aguas, el torrente habría pasado sobre nosotros perhaps the waters would have engulfed us.5y nuestra alma habría caído bajo las aguas tumultuosas. Our soul has passed through a torrent. Perhaps, our soul had even passed through intolerable water.6Bendito sea Yahvé que no nos dio por presa de sus dientes. Blessed is the Lord, who has not given us into the harm of their teeth.7Nuestra vida escapó como un pájaro del lazo de los cazadores. El lazo se ha roto y hemos quedado libres. Our soul has been snatched away like a sparrow from the snare of the hunters. The snare has been broken, and we have been freed.8Nuestro socorro está en el Nombre de Yahvé, el que hizo el cielo y la tierra. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
