Salmos 131

¹Cántico gradual. Acuérdate, Yahvé, en favor de David, de toda su solicitud; A Canticle in steps. O Lord, remember David and all his meekness,²cómo juró a Yahvé, e hizo al Fuerte de Jacob este voto: how he swore to the Lord, how he made a vow to the God of Jacob:³“No entraré yo a morar en mi casa, ni subiré al estrado de mi lecho; I shall not enter into the tabernacle of my house, nor climb into the bed where I lie down;⁴no concederé sueño a mis ojos ni descanso a mis párpados, I shall not give sleep to my eyes, nor slumber to my eyelids⁵hasta que halle un sitio para Yahvé, una morada para el Fuerte de Jacob.” and rest to my temples, until I find a place for the Lord, a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.⁶He aquí que le oímos mencionar en Efrata, encontrámosle en los campos de Yáar. Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We discovered it in the fields of the forest.⁷Entrábamos en la morada, para postrarnos ante el escabel de sus pies. We will enter into his tabernacle. We will adore in the place where his feet stood.⁸Oh Yahvé, sube a tu mansión estable, Tú y el Arca de tu majestad. Rise up, O Lord, into your resting place. You and the ark of your sanctification.⁹Revístanse de justicia tus sacerdotes y tus santos rebosen de exultación. Let your priests be clothed with justice, and let your saints exult.¹⁰Por amor de David tu siervo no rechaces el rostro de tu ungido. For the sake of your servant David, do not turn away the face of your Christ.¹¹Yahvé juró a David una firme promesa que no retractará: “Vástago de tu raza pondré sobre tu trono. The Lord has sworn the truth to David, and he will not disappoint: I will set upon your throne from the fruit of your lineage.¹²Si tus hijos guardaren mi alianza, y los mandamientos que Yo les enseñare, también los hijos de ellos se sentarán sobre tu trono perpetuamente.” If your sons will keep my covenant and these, my testimonies, which I will teach to them, then their sons will sit upon your throne even forever.¹³Porque Yahvé escogió a Sión; la ha querido para morada suya: For the Lord has chosen Zion. He has chosen it as his dwelling place.¹⁴“Este es mi reposo para siempre; aquí habitaré porque la he elegido. This is my resting place, forever and ever. Here I will dwell, for I have chosen it.¹⁵Colmaré su mesa de bendiciones, saciaré de pan a sus pobres. When blessing, I will bless her widow. I will satisfy her poor with bread.¹⁶A sus sacerdotes los vestiré de salud, y sus santos rebosarán de exultación. I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will rejoice with great joy.¹⁷Allí haré reflorecer el cuerno de David, allí preparo una lámpara para mi ungido. There, I will produce a horn to David. There, I have prepared a lamp for my Christ.¹⁸A sus enemigos vestiré de confusión; mas sobre él refulgirá mi diadema.” I will clothe his enemies with confusion. But my sanctification will flourish over him.
