Salmos 26

1De David. Yahvé es mi luz y mi socorro; ¿a quién temeré? La defensa de mi vida es Yahvé; ¿ante quién podré temblar? A Psalm of David, before he was sealed. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the protector of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?2Cada vez que me asaltan los malignos para devorar mi carne, son ellos, mis adversarios y enemigos, quienes vacilan y caen. Meanwhile, the guilty draw near to me, so as to eat my flesh. Those who trouble me, my enemies, have themselves been weakened and have fallen.3Si un ejército acampase contra mí, mi corazón no temería; y aunque estalle contra mí la guerra, tendré confianza. If entrenched armies were to stand together against me, my heart would not fear. If a battle were to rise up against me, I would have hope in this.4Una sola cosa he pedido a Yahvé, y esto sí lo reclamo: [habitar en la casa de Yahvé todos los días de mi vida]; contemplar la suavidad de Yahvé y meditar en su santuario. One thing I have asked of the Lord, this I will seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, so that I may behold the delight of the Lord, and may visit his temple.5Porque en el día malo Él me esconderá en su tienda; me tendrá seguro en el secreto de su tabernáculo, y me pondrá sobre una alta roca. For he has hidden me in his tabernacle. In the day of evils, he has protected me in the hidden place of his tabernacle.6Entonces mi cabeza se alzará por encima de mis enemigos en torno mío, e inmolaré en su tabernáculo sacrificios de júbilo; cantaré y entonaré salmos a Yahvé. He has exalted me upon the rock, and now he has exalted my head above my enemies. I have circled around and offered a sacrifice of loud exclamation in his tabernacle. I will sing, and I will compose a psalm, to the Lord.7Escucha, oh Yahvé, mi voz que te llama; ten misericordia de mí y atiéndeme. Hear my voice, O Lord, with which I have cried out to you. Have mercy on me, and hear me.8Mi corazón sabe que Tú has dicho: “Buscadme.” Y yo busco tu rostro, oh Yahvé. My heart has spoken to you; my face has sought you. I yearn for your face, O Lord.9No quieras esconderme tu faz, no rechaces con desdén a tu siervo. Mi socorro eres Tú; no me eches fuera, ni me desampares, oh Dios, Salvador mío. Do not turn your face away from me. In your wrath, do not turn aside from your servant. Be my helper. Do not abandon me, and do not despise me, O God, my Savior.10Si mi padre y mi madre me abandonan, Yahvé me recogerá. For my father and my mother have left me behind, but the Lord has taken me up.11Muéstrame, oh Yahvé, tu camino, y condúceme por la senda llana a causa de los que me están asechando. O Lord, establish a law for me in your way, and direct me in the right path, because of my enemies.12No me dejes entregado a la voluntad de mis enemigos, porque se han levantado contra mí falsos testigos que respiran crueldad. Do not surrender me to the souls of those who trouble me. For unjust witnesses have risen up against me, and iniquity has lied to itself.13¡Ah, si no creyera yo que veré los bienes de Yahvé en la tierra de los vivientes! I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.14¡Aguarda a Yahvé y ten ánimo; aliéntese tu corazón y aguarde a Yahvé! Wait for the Lord, act manfully; and let your heart be strengthened, and remain with the Lord.
