Salmos 48
1Al maestro de coro. De los hijos de Coré. Salmo. Unto the end. A Psalm to the sons of Korah.2Oíd esto, naciones todas, escuchad, moradores todos del orbe, Hear these things, all nations. Pay attention, all inhabitants of the world:3así plebeyos como nobles, ricos tanto como pobres. whoever is earth-born, you sons of men, together as one, the rich and the poor.4Mi boca proferirá sabiduría, y la meditación de mi corazón, inteligencia. My mouth will speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will speak prudence.5Inclinaré mi oído a la parábola, y al son de la cítara propondré mi enigma. I will incline my ear to a parable. I will open my case with the psaltery.6¿Por qué he de temer yo en los días malos, cuando me rodea la malicia de los que me asechan, Why should I fear in the evil day? The iniquity at my heel will surround me.7los que confían en sus recursos y se glorían de la abundancia de sus riquezas? Those who trust in their own strength and who glory in the multitude of their riches,8Pues nadie podrá librarse a sí mismo, ni dar a Dios un precio por su redención no brother redeems, nor will man buy back. He will not give to God his appeasement,9—demasiado caro es el rescate de la vida— ni logrará nunca seguir viviendo por siempre nor the price for the redemption of his soul. And he will labor continuously,10sin ver la muerte. and he will still live, until the end.11Pues verá que los sabios mueren, e igualmente perecen el insensato y el necio, dejando sus riquezas a extraños. He will not see death, when he sees the wise dying: the foolish and the senseless will perish together. And they will leave their riches to strangers.12Los sepulcros son sus mansiones para siempre, sus moradas de generación en generación, por más que hayan dado a las tierras sus nombres. And their sepulchers will be their houses forever, their tabernacles from generation to generation. They have called their names in their own lands.13Porque el hombre no permanece en su opulencia; desaparece como los brutos. And man, when he was held in honor, did not understand. He has been compared to the senseless beasts, and he has become like them.14Tal es la senda de los que estultamente confían, y tal el fin de los que se glorían de su suerte. This way of theirs is a scandal to them. And afterwards, they will delight in their mouth.15Como ovejas son echados al sepulcro; su pastor es la muerte, y a la mañana los justos dominarán sobre ellos. Pronto su figura se volverá un desecho, y el sepulcro será su casa. They have been placed in Hell like sheep. Death will feed on them. And the just will have dominion over them in the morning. And their help will grow old in Hell for their glory.16Pero mi vida Dios la librará de la tumba, porque Él me tomará consigo. Even so, truly God will redeem my soul from the hand of Hell, when he will receive me.17No temas si alguno se enriquece, si aumenta la opulencia de su casa; Do not be afraid, when a man will have been made rich, and when the glory of his house will have been multiplied.18porque al morir nada se llevará consigo, ni baja con él su fausto. For when he dies, he will take nothing away, and his glory will not descend with him.19Aunque él mientras vivía se jactase, congratulándose de pasarlo bien, For his soul will be blessed in his lifetime, and he will admit to you when you do good to him.20bajará a reunirse con sus padres, y no verá jamás la luz. He will even enter with the progeny of his fathers, but, even in eternity, he will not see the light.21Pero el hombre en auge no comprende; desaparece como los brutos. Man, when he was in honor, did not understand. He has been compared to the senseless beasts, and he has become like them.
