Salmos 82

¹Cántico. Salmo de Asaf. A Canticle Psalm of Asaph.²Oh Dios, no permanezcas mudo; no estés sordo, oh Dios, ni te muestres pasivo. O God, who will ever be like you? Do not be silent, and do not be unmoved, O God.³Mira el tumulto que hacen tus enemigos, y cómo los que te odian yerguen su cabeza. For behold, your enemies have sounded off, and those who hate you have carried out a head.⁴A tu pueblo le traman asechanzas; se confabulan contra los que Tú proteges. They have acted with malice in counsel over your people, and they have plotted against your holy ones.⁵“Venid (dicen), borrémoslos; que ya no sean pueblo; no quede ni memoria del nombre de Israel.” They have said, “Come, let us scatter them from the nations and not allow the name of Israel to be remembered any longer.”⁶Así conspiran todos a una y forman liga contra Ti: For they plotted unanimously. Joined together against you, they ordained a covenant:⁷las tiendas de Edom y los ismaelitas, Moab y los agarenos, the tabernacle of Edomites and Ishmaelites, and Moab and the Hagarites,⁸Gebal y Ammón y Amalec, Filistea y los habitantes de Tiro. and Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, the foreigners among the inhabitants of Tyre.⁹También los asirios se les han unido, y se han hecho auxiliares de los hijos de Lot. My God, set them like a wheel, and like stubble before the face of the wind.¹⁵Como fuego que consume la selva, como llama que abrasa los montes, Set them like a fire burning up the forest, and like a flame burning up the mountains.¹⁶así persíguelos en tu tempestad, y atérralos en tu borrasca. So will you pursue them in your tempest, and disturb them in your wrath.¹⁷Haz que sus rostros se cubran de vergüenza, para que busquen tu nombre ¡oh Dios! Fill their faces with shame, and they will seek your name, O Lord.¹⁸Queden para siempre en la ignominia y en la turbación; sean confundidos y perezcan. Let them be ashamed and troubled, from age to age, and let them be confounded and perish.¹⁹Y sepan que tu Nombre es Yahvé; y que solo Tú eres el Altísimo sobre toda la tierra. And let them know that the Lord is your name. You alone are the Most High in all the earth.
