Romanos 8
1Por tanto, ahora no hay condenación alguna para los que están en Cristo Jesús. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who are not walking according to the flesh.2Porque la Ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha liberado de la ley del pecado, y de la muerte. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death.3Lo que era imposible a la Ley, por cuanto estaba debilitada por la carne, hízolo Dios enviando a su Hijo en carne semejante a la del pecado, y en reparación por el pecado condenó el pecado en la carne, For though this was impossible under the law, because it was weakened by the flesh, God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and because of sin, in order to condemn sin in the flesh,4para que lo mandado por la Ley se cumpliese en nosotros, los que caminamos no según la carne, sino según el espíritu. so that the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us. For we are not walking according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.5Pues los que viven según la carne, piensan en las cosas de la carne; mas los que viven según el espíritu, en las del espíritu. For those who are in agreement with the flesh are mindful of the things of the flesh. But those who are in agreement with the spirit are mindful of the things of the spirit.6Y el sentir de la carne es muerte; mas el sentir del espíritu es vida y paz. For the prudence of the flesh is death. But the prudence of the spirit is life and peace.7Pues el sentir de la carne es enemistad contra Dios, porque no se sujeta a la Ley de Dios ni puede en verdad hacerlo. And the wisdom of the flesh is inimical to God. For it is not subject to the law of God, nor can it be.8Y los que viven en la carne no pueden, entonces, agradar a Dios. So those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.9Vosotros, empero, no estáis en la carne sino en el espíritu, si es que el Espíritu de Dios habita en vosotros. Si alguno no tiene el Espíritu de Cristo, ese tal no es de Él. And you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if it is true that the Spirit of God lives within you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.10Si, en cambio, Cristo habita en vosotros, el cuerpo en verdad está muerto por causa del pecado, mas el espíritu es vida a causa de la justicia. But if Christ is within you, then the body is indeed dead, concerning sin, but the spirit truly lives, because of justification.11Y si el Espíritu del que resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos habita en vosotros, Aquel que resucitó a Cristo de entre los muertos vivificará también vuestros cuerpos mortales por medio de ese Espíritu suyo que habita en vosotros. But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead lives within you, then he who raised up Jesus Christ from the dead shall also enliven your mortal bodies, by means of his Spirit living within you.12Así, pues, hermanos, somos deudores: no de la carne para vivir según la carne; Therefore, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, so as to live according to the flesh.13pues si vivís según la carne, habéis de morir; mas si por el espíritu hacéis morir las obras del cuerpo, viviréis. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if, by the Spirit, you mortify the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.14Porque todos cuantos son movidos por el Espíritu de Dios, estos son hijos de Dios, For all those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.15dado que no recibisteis el espíritu de esclavitud, para obrar de nuevo por temor, sino que recibisteis el espíritu de filiación, en virtud del cual clamamos: ¡Abba! (esto es), Padre. And you have not received, again, a spirit of servitude in fear, but you have received the Spirit of the adoption of sons, in whom we cry out: “Abba, Father!”16El mismo Espíritu da testimonio, juntamente con el espíritu nuestro, de que somos hijos de Dios. For the Spirit himself renders testimony to our spirit that we are the sons of God.17Y si hijos, también herederos; herederos de Dios y coherederos de Cristo, si es que sufrimos juntamente (con Él ), para ser también glorificados (con Él). But if we are sons, then we are also heirs: certainly heirs of God, but also co-heirs with Christ, yet in such a way that, if we suffer with him, we shall also be glorified with him.18Estimo, pues que esos padecimientos del tiempo presente no son dignos de ser comparados con la gloria venidera que ha de manifestarse en nosotros. For I consider that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with that future glory which shall be revealed in us.19La creación está aguardando con ardiente anhelo esa manifestación de los hijos de Dios; For the anticipation of the creature anticipates the revelation of the sons of God.20pues si la creación está sometida a la vanidad, no es de grado, sino por la voluntad de aquel que la sometió; pero con esperanza, For the creature was made subject to emptiness, not willingly, but for the sake of the One who made it subject, unto hope.21porque también la creación misma será libertada de la servidumbre de la corrupción para (participar de) la libertad de la gloria de los hijos de Dios. For the creature itself shall also be delivered from the servitude of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the sons of God.22Sabemos, en efecto, que ahora la creación entera gime a una, y a una está en dolores de parto. For we know that every creature groans inwardly, as if giving birth, even until now;23Y no tan solo ella, sino que asimismo nosotros, los que tenemos las primicias del Espíritu, también gemimos en nuestro interior, aguardando la filiación, la redención de nuestro cuerpo. and not only these, but also ourselves, since we hold the first-fruits of the Spirit. For we also groan within ourselves, anticipating our adoption as the sons of God, and the redemption of our body.24Porque en la esperanza hemos sido salvados; mas la esperanza que se ve, ya no es esperanza; porque lo que uno ve, ¿cómo lo puede esperar? For we have been saved by hope. But a hope which is seen is not hope. For when a man sees something, why would he hope?25Si, pues, esperamos lo que no vemos, esperamos en paciencia. But since we hope for what we do not see, we wait with patience.26De la misma manera también el Espíritu ayuda a nuestra flaqueza; porque no sabemos qué orar según conviene, pero el Espíritu está intercediendo Él mismo por nosotros con gemidos que son inexpresables. And similarly, the Spirit also helps our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself asks on our behalf with ineffable sighing.27Mas Aquel que escudriña los corazones sabe cuál es el sentir del Espíritu, porque Este intercede por los santos conforme a la voluntad de Dios. And he who examines hearts knows what the Spirit seeks, because he asks on behalf of the saints in accordance with God.28Sabemos, además, que todas las cosas cooperan para el bien de los que aman a Dios, de los que son llamados según su designio. And we know that, for those who love God, all things work together unto good, for those who, in accordance with his purpose, are called to be saints.29Porque Él, a los que preconoció, los predestinó a ser conformes a la imagen de su Hijo, para que Este sea el primogénito entre muchos hermanos. For those whom he foreknew, he also predestined, in conformity with the image of his Son, so that he might be the Firstborn among many brothers.30Y a esos que predestinó, también los llamó; y a esos que llamó, también los justificó; y a esos que justificó, también los glorificó. And those whom he predestined, he also called. And those whom he called, he also justified. And those whom he justified, he also glorified.31Y a esto ¿qué diremos ahora? Si Dios está por nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros? So, what should we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?32El que aun a su propio Hijo no perdonó, sino que le entregó por todos nosotros, ¿cómo no nos dará gratuitamente todas las cosas con Él? He who did not spare even his own Son, but handed him over for the sake of us all, how could he not also, with him, have given us all things?33¿Quién podrá acusar a los escogidos de Dios? Siendo Dios el que justifica, Who will make an accusation against the elect of God? God is the One who justifies;34¿quién podrá condenar? Pues Cristo Jesús, el mismo que murió, más aún, el que fue resucitado, está a la diestra de Dios. Ese es el que intercede por nosotros. who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus who has died, and who has indeed also risen again, is at the right hand of God, and even now he intercedes for us.35¿Quién nos separará del amor de Cristo? ¿la tribulación, la angustia, la persecución, el hambre, la desnudez, el peligro, la espada? Then who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation? Or anguish? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or peril? Or persecution? Or the sword?36según está escrito: “Por la causa tuya somos muertos cada día, considerados como ovejas destinadas al matadero”. For it is as it has been written: “For your sake, we are being put to death all day long. We are being treated like sheep for the slaughter.”37Mas en todas estas cosas triunfamos gracias a Aquel que nos amó. But in all these things we overcome, because of him who has loved us.38Porque persuadido estoy de que ni muerte, ni vida, ni ángeles, ni principados, ni cosas presentes, ni cosas futuras, ni potestades, For I am certain that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor Principalities, nor Powers, nor the present things, nor the future things, nor strength,39ni altura, ni profundidad, ni otra creatura alguna podrá separarnos del amor de Dios, que está en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor. nor the heights, nor the depths, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
