¹La sabiduría se hará ella misma su elogio, se honrará en Dios, y se gloriará en medio de su pueblo. Wisdom will praise her own mind, and she will be honored by God, and she will be glorified in the midst of her people.²Ella abrirá su boca en medio de las reuniones del Altísimo, y se glorificará a la vista de los escuadrones de Dios. And she will open her mouth in the churches of the Most High, and she will be glorified in the sight of his virtue.³Será ensalzada en medio de su pueblo, y admirada en la congregación de los santos. And in the midst of her own people, she will be exalted. And she will be admired by the holy assembly.⁴Recibirá alabanzas de la muchedumbre de los escogidos, y será bendita entre los benditos y dirá: And she will have praise within the multitude of the elect. And she will be blessed among the blessed. And she will say:⁵Yo salí de la boca del Altísimo, engendrada antes de toda creatura. “I went forth from the mouth of the Most High, as the first-born before all creatures.⁶Yo hice nacer en los cielos la luz indeficiente, y como una niebla cubrí toda la tierra. I caused an unfailing light to arise in the heavens. And I covered all the earth like a cloud.⁷En los altísimos cielos puse mi morada, y el trono mío sobre una columna de nubes. I lived in the highest places, and my throne is in the pillar of a cloud.⁸Yo sola hice todo el giro del cielo, penetré por el profundo del abismo, y me paseé por las olas del mar. I alone have encompassed the circuit of heaven, and have penetrated to the depths of the abyss, and have walked upon the waves of the sea,⁹Puse mis pies en todas las partes de la tierra, y en todos los pueblos, and have stood upon the whole earth. And among every people,¹⁰y en toda nación tuve el supremo dominio, and in every nation, I have held primacy.¹¹Yo sujeté con mi poder los corazones de los grandes y de los pequeños, en todos esos busqué donde posar, y en la heredad del Señor fijé mi morada. And by virtue, I have tread upon the hearts of all, the great and the lowly. And I have sought my rest in all of them. And I will continue, as the inheritance of the Lord.¹²Entonces dio Él sus órdenes, y me habló el Creador de todas las cosas; y El que a mí me dio el ser, reposó en mi tabernáculo, Then the Creator of all things instructed and spoke with me. And the One who created me rested in my tabernacle.¹³y me dijo: “Habita en Jacob, y sea Israel tu herencia, y arráigate en medio de mis escogidos.” And he said to me: ‘Let your dwelling place be with Jacob, and let your inheritance be in Israel, for you shall take root among my elect.’¹⁴Desde el principio, y antes de los siglos, recibí yo el ser, y no dejaré de existir en el siglo venidero. En el tabernáculo santo ejercité el ministerio mío, ante su acatamiento. From the beginning, and before the world, I was created. And even unto the future world, I will not cease to exist. For I have ministered before him in the holy habitation.¹⁵Y así fijé mi estancia en Sión, y fue el lugar de mi reposo la Ciudad Santa; en Jerusalén está el trono mío. And in this way, I was established in Zion. And likewise, in the holy city, I found rest. And my authority was in Jerusalem.¹⁶Me arraigué en un pueblo glorioso, y en la porción de mi Dios, la cual es su herencia; y mi habitación fue en la multitud de los santos. And I took root among an honorable people, within the portion of my God, within his inheritance. And so my abode is in the full assembly of the saints.¹⁷Elevada estoy cual cedro sobre el Líbano y cual ciprés sobre el monte Sión. I was exalted like a cedar in Lebanon and like a cypress on Mount Zion.¹⁸Me he alzado como una palmera en Cadés; y como un rosal plantado en Jericó. I was exalted like a palm tree in Kadesh and like a rose bush in Jericho.¹⁹Crecí como un hermoso olivo en los campos, y como el plátano en las plazas junto al agua. I was exalted like a beautiful olive tree in the plains, and like a sycamore tree beside the waters along a wide road.²⁰Como el cinamomo y el bálsamo aromático despedí fragancia. Como mirra escogida exhalé suave olor; I gave off an aromatic fragrance like cinnamon or balsam. I produced a sweet odor like the best myrrh.²¹y llené mi habitación de odoríferos perfumes como de estoraque, de gálbano, de ónice, y como de mirra y de incienso virgen; y mi fragancia es como bálsamo sin mezcla. And I perfumed my dwelling place with sweet gum, and aromatic resin, and flower petals, and aloe, as well as the finest cedar from Lebanon. And my fragrance is like undiluted balsam.²²Extendí mis ramas como el terebinto, y mis ramas llenas están de majestad y hermosura. I have extended my branches like a terebinth tree, and my branches are of honor and grace.²³Como la vid di pimpollos de suave olor, y mis flores dan frutos de gloria y de riqueza. Like the vine, I have born the fruit of a sweet fragrance. And my flowers are the fruit of honor and integrity.²⁴Yo soy la madre del bello amor, del temor, de la ciencia y de la santa esperanza. I am the mother of the beauty of love, and of fear, and of knowledge, and of holy hope.²⁵En mí está toda la gracia del camino y de la verdad; en mí toda esperanza de vida y de virtud. All grace of the way and of the truth is in me. All hope of life and of virtue is in me.²⁶Venid a mí todos los que os halláis presos de mi amor, y saciaos de mis frutos; Journey toward me, all you who desire me, and be filled by my harvest.²⁷porque mi espíritu es más dulce que la miel, y más suave que el panal de miel, mi herencia. For my spirit is sweeter than honey, and my inheritance is better than honey and the honeycomb.²⁸Se hará memoria de mí en toda la serie de los siglos. My memory is for the generations of all ages.²⁹Los que de mí comen, tienen siempre hambre de mí, y tienen siempre sed los que de mí beben. Whoever consumes me will hunger still. And whoever drinks me will thirst still.³⁰El que me escucha, jamás tendrá de qué avergonzarse; y los que se guían por mí, no pecarán. Whoever listens to me will not be confounded. And whoever acts in me will not sin.³¹Los que me esclarecen, obtendrán la vida eterna. Whoever elucidates me will have eternal life.”³²Todas estas cosas contiene el libro de la vida, que es el testamento del Altísimo y el conocimiento de la verdad. All this is a book of life, and a covenant of the Most High, and an acknowledgement of truth.³³Moisés intimó una ley de preceptos justos, en herencia a la casa de Jacob, con las promesas hechas a Israel. Moses commanded the law by the precepts of justice, and an inheritance to the house of Jacob, and the promises to Israel.³⁴Puso a su siervo David para suscitar de él un Rey fortísimo, que se sentase sobre un trono de gloria para siempre. God appointed David as his servant, in order to raise up from him a most mighty King, who would sit upon the throne of honor forever.³⁵Rebosa en sabiduría como el Fisón y el Tigris en la estación de los nuevos frutos; It is he who fulfills wisdom, like the Phison river and the Tigris river in the first days.³⁶desborda inteligencia, como el Éufrates, y crece más y más, como el Jordán en el tiempo de la siega; It is he who fulfills understanding, like the river Euphrates. It is he who multiplies understanding, like the river Jordan in the time of the harvest.³⁷derrama la ciencia como la Faz, e inunda como el Gihón en la estación de la vendimia. He sends forth discipline like the light, and he stands forth like the river Gehon in the time of the vintage.³⁸Él es el primero que la conoce perfectamente, otro que sea menos fuerte no la comprende. He first had perfect knowledge of her, for a weaker one would not search for her.³⁹Porque son más vastos que el mar sus pensamientos, y sus consejos más profundos que el grande abismo. For her thoughts abound like the sea, and her counsels abound like the great abyss.⁴⁰Yo, la sabiduría, derramé los ríos. “I, wisdom, have poured forth rivers.⁴¹Yo como canal de agua inmensa, derivada del río, y como acequia sacada del río, y como un acueducto, salí del paraíso. I am like a brook leading to a river of immense waters. I am like a channel flowing from a river. And I went forth from Paradise like an aqueduct.⁴²Yo dije: “Regaré los plantíos de mi huerto, y hartaré de agua los frutales de mi prado.” I said: I will irrigate my garden of plantings, and I will thoroughly water the fruits of my field.⁴³Y he aquí que mi canal ha salido de madre, y mi río se iguala a un mar. And behold, my brook became overflowing, and my river drew near to the sea.⁴⁴Porque la luz de mi doctrina, con que ilumino a todos, es como la luz de la aurora, y seguiré esparciéndola hasta los remotos tiempos. For I illuminate doctrine to all, like the first light. And I will announce doctrine, even to those who are far away.⁴⁵Penetraré todas las partes más hondas de la tierra, visitaré a todos los que duermen, e iluminaré a todos los que esperan en el Señor. I will reach to all the lower parts of the earth, and I will gaze upon all who sleep, and I will illuminate all who hope in the Lord.⁴⁶Proseguiré difundiendo la doctrina como profecía, y la dejaré a aquellos que buscan la sabiduría, y no cesaré de anunciarla a toda su descendencia hasta el siglo santo. Even now, I pour forth doctrine like prophecy. And even now, I bequeath doctrine to those who seek wisdom. And I will not cease from their progeny, even unto the holy time.⁴⁷Observad cómo no he trabajado para mí solo, sino para todos aquellos que andan en busca de la verdad. See how I have not labored for myself alone, but for all who are seeking truth!”
