Cantar de los Cantares 1

1¡Béseme él con los besos de su boca! porque tus amores son mejores que el vino. Bride: May he kiss me with the kiss of his mouth.. Groom to Bride: So much better than wine are your breasts,2Suave es el olor de tus ungüentos; es tu nombre ungüento derramado; por eso te aman las doncellas. fragranced with the finest perfumes. Bride to Groom: Your name is oil that has been poured out; therefore, the maidens have loved you.3Atráeme en pos de ti. ¡Corramos! Me introdujo el Rey en sus cámaras. Nos gozaremos, nos alegraremos en ti. Celebraremos tus amores más que el vino. Con razón te aman. Draw me forward. Chorus to Bride: We will run after you in the odor of your perfumes. Bride to Chorus: The king has led me into his storerooms. Chorus to Bride: We will exult and rejoice in you, remembering your breasts above wine. Groom to Bride: The righteous love you.4Morena soy, pero hermosa, oh hijas de Jerusalén, como las tiendas de Cedar, como los pabellones de Salomón. Bride to Chorus: O daughters of Jerusalem: I am black, but shapely, like the tabernacles of Kedar, like the tents of Solomon.5No reparéis en que soy morena; es que me ha quemado el sol. Los hijos de mi madre se airaron contra mí; me pusieron a guardar las viñas; pero mi viña, la mía, no he guardado. Do not be concerned that I am dark, for the sun has changed my color. The sons of my mother have fought against me. They have made me the keeper of the vineyards. My own vineyard I have not kept.6Dime, oh tú a quien ama el alma mía, dónde pastoreas, dónde haces sestear las ovejas al mediodía, para que no ande yo vagando alrededor de los rebaños de tus compañeros. Bride to Groom: Reveal to me, you whom my soul loves, where you pasture, where you recline at midday, lest I begin to wander after the flocks of your companions.7Si no lo sabes, oh hermosa entre las mujeres, sal siguiendo las huellas del rebaño, y apacienta tus cabritos junto a las cabañas de los pastores. Groom to Bride: If you yourself do not know, O most beautiful among women, then go out and follow after the steps of the flocks, and pasture your young goats beside the tabernacles of the shepherds.8A mi yegua, en las carrozas del Faraón, te comparo, oh amiga mía. O my love, I have compared you to my company of horsemen against the chariots of Pharaoh.9Hermosas son tus mejillas entre los pendientes, cuello entre los collares. Your cheeks are beautiful, like those of a turtledove. Your neck is like a bejeweled collar.10Collares de oro haremos para ti incrustados de plata. Chorus to Bride: We will fashion for you chains of gold, accented with reddened silver.11Estando el rey en su diván, mi nardo exhala su fragancia. Bride to Chorus: While the king was taking his rest, my aromatic ointment sent forth its odor.12Un manojito de mirra es para mí el amado mío: reposa entre mis pechos. My beloved is a bundle of myrrh to me. He shall abide between my breasts.13Racimo de cipro es mi amado para mí en las viñas de Engadí. My beloved is a cluster of Cyprus grapes to me, in the vineyards of Engaddi.14Hermosa eres, amiga mía, eres hermosa; tus ojos son palomas. Groom to Bride: Behold, you are beautiful, O my love. Behold, you are beautiful. Your eyes are those of a dove.15Hermoso eres, amado mío, ¡y cuan delicioso! y nuestro lecho es de flores. Bride to Groom: Behold, you are handsome, O my beloved, and graceful. Our bed is flourishing.16De cedro son las vigas de nuestra casa, de ciprés nuestros artesonados. Groom to Bride: The timbers of our houses are of cedar; our ceilings are of cypress.
