Tobías 13
1Tobías el anciano abrió su boca, y bendiciendo al Señor dijo: “Grande eres Tú, oh Señor, por siempre, y tu reino dura por todos los siglos. And so, the elder Tobit, opening his mouth, blessed the Lord, and he said: “O Lord, you are great in eternity and your kingdom is with all ages.2Porque Tú castigas y salvas; Tú conduces al sepulcro, y sacas de él, y no hay quien escape de tus manos. For you scourge, and you save. You lead down to the grave, and you bring up again. And there is no one who can escape from your hand.3Bendecid al Señor; hijos de Israel, y alabadle ante las naciones. Confess to the Lord, O sons of Israel, and praise him in the sight of the nations.4Pues por eso os ha esparcido entre las gentes que no lo conocen, para que contéis sus maravillas, y les enseñéis que fuera de Él no hay otro Dios todopoderoso. For, indeed, he has dispersed you among the Gentiles, who are ignorant of him, that you may proclaim his wonders, and that you may cause them to know that there is no other almighty God, except him.5Él nos ha castigado por nuestras iniquidades, y Él nos salvará por su misericordia. He has chastised us because of our iniquities, and he will save us because of his mercy.6Mirad lo que ha hecho por nosotros; alabadle con temor y temblor, y glorificad con vuestras obras al rey de los siglos. Therefore, look upon what he has done for us, and, with fear and trembling, confess to him. And extol the King of all ages with your works.7Yo le ensalzaré en la tierra de mi cautiverio, pues ha manifestado su majestad sobre una nación pecadora. But as for me, I will confess him in the land of my captivity. For he has revealed his majesty within a sinful nation.8Convertíos oh pecadores, y haced lo que es justo ante Dios, seguros de que os hará misericordia. And so, be converted, you sinners, and do justice in the presence of God, believing that he will act in his mercy toward you.9En cuanto a mí, yo y mi alma en Él nos alegraremos. But I and my soul will rejoice in him.10Bendecid al Señor todos sus escogidos, celebrad días de alegría y loadle. Bless the Lord, all you his elect. Keep days of rejoicing, and confess to him.11Jerusalén, ciudad de Dios, el Señor te ha castigado por lo que has hecho. O Jerusalem, the city of God, the Lord has chastised you for the works of your hands.12Glorifica al Señor con tus buenas obras, y bendice al Dios de los siglos, para que reedifique en ti su morada y te restituya todos los cautivos, y te goces por todos los siglos de los siglos. Confess to the Lord with your good things, and bless the God of all ages, so that he may rebuild his tabernacle in you, and he may recall all the captives to you, and you may be glad in all ages and forever.13Brillarás con luz esplendorosa, y todos los países de la tierra se prosternarán delante de ti. You will shine with a splendid light, and all the ends of the earth will adore by you.14Vendrán a ti naciones lejanas; trayendo dones adorarán en ti al Señor, y tendrán tu tierra por santuario. Nations from far away will come to you, bringing gifts. And in you, they shall adore the Lord, and they will hold your land in sanctification.15Porque dentro de ti invocarán el gran Nombre. For they will invoke the Great Name in you.16Malditos los que te desprecian; serán condenados todos los que te blasfemaren y benditos los que te reedifiquen. Those who despise you will be cursed, and all those who blaspheme by you will be condemned, and those who build you up will be blessed.17Te regocijarás en tus hijos, porque todos serán benditos y se reunirán con el Señor. But you will rejoice in your sons, because they will all be blessed, and they will be gathered together for the Lord.18Dichosos todos los que te aman y se regocijan por tu paz. Blessed are all those who love you and who rejoice in your peace.19Alma mía, bendice al Señor; pues Él, el Señor Dios nuestro, ha librado a Jerusalén, su ciudad, de todas sus tribulaciones. Bless the Lord, O my soul, for the Lord our God has freed Jerusalem, his city, from every one of her tribulations.20Dichoso seré yo, si quedaren reliquias de mi linaje para ver el esplendor de Jerusalén. Happy will I be, if any of my offspring will be left to see the brightness of Jerusalem.21De zafiros y de esmeraldas se harán las puertas de Jerusalén, y de piedras preciosas todo el circuito de sus muros. The gates of Jerusalem will be built from sapphire and emerald, and all its walls will be surrounded with precious stones.22Con piedras blancas y limpias serán enlosadas todas sus calles y en todos sus barrios se cantará Aleluya. All its streets will be paved with stones, white and clean. And ‘Alleluia’ will be sung throughout its neighborhoods.23Bendito sea el Señor que la ha ensalzado, y sea su reino en ella por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.” Blessed be the Lord, who has exalted it, and may he reign over it, forever and ever. Amen.”
