Zacarías 8
1Y llegó esta palabra de parte de Yahvé: And the word of the Lord of hosts came, saying:2“Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Tengo grandes celos de Sión, y un gran furor se ha apoderado de Mí en favor de ella. Thus says the Lord of hosts: I have been zealous for Zion with a great zeal, and with a great indignation have I been zealous for her.3Así dice Yahvé: Me he vuelto a Sión, y moraré en medio de Jerusalén; y Jerusalén será llamada la ciudad fiel; y el monte de Yahvé de los ejércitos, monte santo. Thus says the Lord of hosts: I have been turned back towards Zion, and I will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And Jerusalem will be called: “The City of Truth,” and “The Mountain of the Lord of Hosts, the Sanctified Mountain.”4Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Aún se sentarán en las plazas de Jerusalén ancianos y ancianas, que por su edad avanzada llevarán cada cual su bastón en la mano; Thus says the Lord of hosts: Then elderly men and elderly women will dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man will be with his walking stick in his hand, because of the multitude of days.5y las calles de la ciudad estarán llenas de muchachos y muchachas que jugarán en ellas. And the streets of the city will be filled with toddlers and children, playing in its streets.6Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Si esto en aquellos días parece cosa imposible a los ojos del resto de este pueblo, ¿parecerá acaso imposible también a mis ojos?, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos. Thus says the Lord of hosts: If it seems difficult in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, could it indeed be difficult in my eyes, says the Lord of hosts?7Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: He aquí que salvaré a mi pueblo de la tierra del Oriente, y de la tierra donde se pone el sol; Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the land of the East, and from the land of the setting of the sun.8y los traeré, y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén; y serán mi pueblo, y Yo seré su Dios, en verdad y en justicia. And I will lead them, and they will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in justice.9Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Confórtense las manos de vosotros, los que en estos días oís las palabras de boca de los profetas que (hablaron) en el día en que se echaron los cimientos de la Casa de Yahvé de los ejércitos para que fuese reedificado el Templo. Thus says the Lord of hosts: Let your hands be strengthened, you who, in those days, are listening to these words by the mouth of the prophets, in the day that the house of the Lord of hosts has been founded, so that the temple may be built.10Porque antes de ese tiempo no había jornal para los hombres, ni jornal para las bestias; ni había paz para quienes salían o entraban, a causa del enemigo; habiendo Yo lanzado a todos los hombres unos contra otros. Indeed, before those days, there was no pay for men, nor was there pay for beasts of burden, and neither was there peace for those entering, nor for those exiting, because of the tribulation. And I had dismissed all men, each one against his neighbor.11Mas ahora no haré más con el resto de este pueblo lo que hice en los días pasados, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos. But now, I will not act towards the remnant of this people according to the former days, says the Lord of hosts.12Porque la siembra prosperará, la vid dará su fruto, la tierra sus productos y el cielo su rocío; y Yo daré al resto de este pueblo todo esto como herencia. But there will be a seed of peace: the vine will give her fruit, and the earth will give her seedlings, and the heavens will give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.13Y así como fuisteis objeto de maldición entre los pueblos, oh casa de Judá y casa de Israel, de la misma manera os salvaré y seréis una bendición. No temáis, antes bien confórtense vuestras manos. And this shall be: just as you were a curse among the Gentiles, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid. Let your hands be strengthened.14Pues así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Al modo que Yo había pensado haceros mal, cuando vuestros padres provocaron mi ira, dice Yahvé de los ejércitos, y Yo no me arrepentí, For thus says the Lord of hosts: Just as I intended to afflict you, when your fathers had provoked me to wrath, says the Lord,15así, al contrario, he pensado en estos días hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la casa de Judá. ¡No tengáis miedo! and I did not show mercy, so have I turned back, thinking in these days to do good to the house of Judah and to Jerusalem. Do not be afraid.16Estas son las cosas que habéis de hacer: Cada uno hable verdad con su prójimo; juzgad en vuestros tribunales según la verdad y en favor de la paz. Therefore, these are the words that you shall do: Speak the truth, each one to his neighbor. With truth and a judgment of peace, judge at your gates.17No maquinéis en vuestros corazones el mal contra vuestro prójimo, ni améis el juramento falso; porque aborrezco todo esto”, dice Yahvé. And let not anyone think up evil against his friend in your hearts. And do not choose to swear falsely. For all these are things that I hate, says the Lord.18Y me llegó esta palabra de parte de Yahvé de los ejércitos: And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying:19“Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: El ayuno del (mes) cuarto, el ayuno del quinto, el ayuno del séptimo, y el ayuno del décimo, se tornarán para la casa de Judá en gozo y regocijo, y en fiestas alegres, con tal que améis la verdad y la paz. Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth will be for the house of Judah in joy and gladness and with bright solemnities. So then, love truth and peace.20Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: Aún han de venir pueblos, y los habitantes de muchas ciudades; Thus says the Lord of hosts, then the people may arrive and dwell in many cities,21y los moradores de una irán a decir a la otra: «Vamos a implorar el favor de Yahvé, y a buscar a Yahvé de los ejércitos. Iré también yo». and the inhabitants may hurry, one saying to another: “Let us go and entreat the face of the Lord, and let us seek the Lord of hosts. I will go also.”22Y muchos pueblos y naciones poderosas vendrán a buscar a Yahvé de los ejércitos en Jerusalén, y a implorar el favor de Yahvé. And many peoples and strong nations will approach, seeking the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the face of the Lord.23Así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos: En aquellos días diez hombres de todas las lenguas de las naciones, se asirán, sí, se asirán de la falda (del manto) de un judío, y dirán: «Iremos con vosotros, porque hemos oído que con vosotros está Dios».” Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days, then, ten men from every language of the Gentiles will grasp and cling to the hem of one man of Judea, saying: “We will go with you. For we have heard that God is with you.”
