Gálatas 5
1Cristo nos ha hecho libres para la libertad. Estad, pues, firmes, y no os sujetéis de nuevo al yugo de la servidumbre. Stand firm, and do not be willing to be again held by the yoke of servitude.2Mirad, yo Pablo os digo que si os circuncidáis, Cristo de nada os aprovechará. Behold, I, Paul, say to you, that if you have been circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you.3Otra vez testifico a todo hombre que se circuncida, que queda obligado a cumplir toda la Ley. For I again testify, about every man circumcising himself, that he is obligated to act according to the entire law.4Destituidos de Cristo quedáis cuantos queréis justificaros por la Ley; caísteis de la gracia. You are being emptied of Christ, you who are being justified by the law. You have fallen from grace.5Pues nosotros, en virtud de la fe, esperamos por medio del Espíritu la promesa de la justicia. For in spirit, by faith, we await the hope of justice.6Por cuanto en Cristo Jesús ni la circuncisión vale algo, ni la incircuncisión, sino la fe, que obra por amor. For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision prevails over anything, but only faith which works through charity.7Corríais bien ¿quién os atajó para no obedecer a la verdad? You have run well. So what has impeded you, that you would not obey the truth?8Tal sugestión no viene de Aquel que os llamó. This kind of influence is not from him who is calling you.9Poca levadura pudre toda la masa. A little leaven corrupts the whole mass.10Yo confío de vosotros en el Señor que no tendréis otro sentir. Mas quien os perturba llevará su castigo, sea quien fuere. I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will accept nothing of the kind. However, he who disturbs you shall bear the judgment, whomever he may be.11En cuanto a mí, hermanos, si predico aún la circuncisión, ¿por qué soy todavía perseguido? ¡Entonces se acabó el escándalo de la cruz! And as for me, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still suffering persecution? For then the scandal of the Cross would be made empty.12¡Ojalá llegasen hasta amputarse los que os trastornan! And I wish that those who disturb you would be torn away.13Vosotros, hermanos, fuisteis llamados a la libertad, mas no uséis la libertad como pretexto para la carne; antes sed siervos unos de otros por la caridad. For you, brothers, have been called to liberty. Only you must not make liberty into an occasion for the flesh, but instead, serve one another through the charity of the Spirit.14Porque toda la Ley se cumple en un solo precepto, en aquello de “Amaras a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”. For the entire law is fulfilled by one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”15Pero si mutuamente (os mordéis y devoráis, mirad que no os aniquiléis unos a otros. But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you are not consumed by one another!16Digo pues: Andad según el Espíritu, y ya no cumpliréis las concupiscencias de la carne. So then, I say: Walk in the spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.17Porque la carne desea en contra del espíritu, y el espíritu en contra de la carne, siendo cosas opuestas entre sí, a fin de que no hagáis cuanto querríais. For the flesh desires against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh. And since these are against one another, you may not do whatever you want.18Porque si os dejáis guiar por el Espíritu no estáis bajo la Ley. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.19Y las obras de la carne son manifiestas, a saber: fornicación, impureza, lascivia, Now the works of the flesh are manifest; they are: fornication, lust, homosexuality, self-indulgence,20idolatría, hechicería, enemistades, contiendas, celos, ira, litigios, banderías, divisiones, the serving of idols, drug use, hostility, contentiousness, jealousy, wrath, quarrels, dissensions, divisions,21envidias, embriagueces, orgías y otras cosas semejantes, respecto de las cuales os prevengo, como os lo he dicho ya, que los que hacen tales cosas no heredarán el reino de Dios. envy, murder, inebriation, carousing, and similar things. About these things, I continue to preach to you, as I have preached to you: that those who act in this way shall not obtain the kingdom of God.22En cambio, el fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, longanimidad, benignidad, bondad, fidelidad, But the fruit of the Spirit is charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, forbearance,23mansedumbre, templanza. If we live by the Spirit, we should also walk by the Spirit.26No seamos codiciosos de vanagloria, provocándonos unos a otros, envidiándonos recíprocamente. Let us not become desirous of empty glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
