Hebreos 3
1Por tanto, hermanos santos, partícipes de una vocación celestial, considerad al Apóstol y Sumo Sacerdote de la fe que profesamos: Jesús; Therefore, holy brothers, sharers in the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession: Jesus.2el cual es fiel al que lo hizo (sacerdote), así como lo fue Moisés en toda su casa. He is faithful to the One who made him, just as Moses also was, with his entire house.3Porque Él fue reputado digno de tanta mayor gloria que Moisés, cuanto mayor gloria tiene sobre la casa quien la edificó; For this Jesus was considered worthy of greater glory than Moses, so much so that the house which he has built holds a greater honor than the former one.4dado que toda casa es edificada por alguno, y quien edificó todas las cosas es Dios. For every house is built by someone, but God is the One who has created all things.5Y a la verdad, Moisés fue fiel como siervo, en toda la casa de Él, a fin de dar testimonio de las cosas que habían de ser dichas; And certainly Moses was faithful, with his entire house, like any servant, as a testimony to those things that would soon be said.6mas Cristo lo fue como Hijo, sobre su propia casa, que somos nosotros, si retenemos firme hasta el fin la confianza y el gloriarnos en la esperanza. Yet truly, Christ is like a Son in his own house. We are that house, if we firmly retain the faithfulness and the glory of hope, even unto the end.7Por lo cual, como dice el Espíritu Santo: “Hoy, si oyereis su voz, Because of this, it is just as the Holy Spirit says: “If today you hear his voice,8no endurezcáis vuestros corazones, como en la provocación, en el día de la tentación en el desierto, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, the very day of temptation, in the desert,9donde me tentaron vuestros padres y me pusieron a prueba, aunque vieron mis obras where your fathers tested me, even though they had seen and examined my works for forty years.10durante cuarenta años. Por eso me irrité contra aquella generación, y dije: siempre yerran en su corazón; no han conocido ellos mis caminos. For this reason, I was enraged against this generation, and I said: They always wander astray in heart. For they have not known my ways.11Y así juré en mi ira: No entrarán en mi reposo”. So it is as I swore in my wrath: They shall not enter into my rest!”12Mirad, pues, hermanos, no sea que en alguno de vosotros haya corazón malo de incredulidad, de modo que se aparte del Dios vivo; Be cautious, brothers, lest perhaps there may be, in any of you, an evil heart of unbelief, turning aside from the living God.13antes bien, exhortaos unos a otros, cada día, mientras se dice: “Hoy”; para que no se endurezca ninguno de vosotros por el engaño del pecado. Instead, exhort one another every day, while it is still called ‘today,’ so that none of you may become hardened through the falseness of sin.14Pues hemos venido a ser participantes de Cristo, si de veras retenemos hasta el fin la segura confianza del principio, For we have been made participants in Christ. This is only so, if we firmly retain the beginning of his substance, even unto the end.15en tanto que se dice: “Hoy, si oyereis su voz, no endurezcáis vuestros corazones, como en la provocación”. For it has been said: “If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts, in the same manner as in the former provocation.”16¿Quiénes fueron los que oyeron y provocaron? No fueron todos los que salieron de Egipto por medio de Moisés. For some of those listening did provoke him. But not all of these had set forth from Egypt through Moses.17¿Contra quiénes se irritó por espacio de cuarenta años? ¿No fue contra los que pecaron, cuyos cadáveres cayeron en el desierto? So against whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not those who had sinned, whose dead bodies lay prostrate in the desert?18¿Y a quiénes juró que no entrarían en su reposo, sino a los rebeldes? But to whom did he swear that they would not enter into his rest, except to those who were incredulous?19Vemos, pues, que estos no pudieron entrar a causa de su incredulidad. And so, we perceive that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.
