Job 16
1Respondió Job y dijo: Then Job, answering, said:2“Muchas cosas como estas he oído ya. Consoladores molestos sois todos. I have often heard such things; you are all aggravating comforters.3¿Cuándo tendrán fin estas palabras de viento? ¿O qué te incita a responder así? Will there be no end to windy words? Or is it at all a burden to you, if you speak?4Yo podría hablar como vosotros, si estuvierais en mi lugar. I, too, can speak like you; and I also wish that your soul favored my soul.5Os dirigiría un montón de palabras, y menearía contra vosotros mi cabeza. I would also comfort you with speeches and would wag my head over you.6Os alentaría con mi boca, y os consolaría con el movimiento de mis labios. I would strengthen you with my mouth, and would move my lips, as if being lenient to you.7Mas ahora, aunque hablo, no se mitiga mi dolor, y si callo, ¿acaso por eso se aleja de mí? But what can I do? When I am speaking, my grief will not be quiet; and if I am quiet, it will not withdraw from me.8Ahora se han agotado mis fuerzas; Tú has destruido toda mi familia. But now my grief has crushed me, and all my limbs have been reduced to nothing.9Me has asido y esto es un testimonio (contra mí); se levanta contra mí mi flacura, acusándome cara a cara. My wrinkles bear witness against me, and a liar rises up against my face, contradicting me.10Su ira me despedaza y me persigue; rechina contra mí sus dientes; enemigo mío, aguza sus ojos contra mí. He has gathered together his fury towards me, and, threatening me, he has roared against me with his teeth; my enemy has beheld me with terrible eyes.11Han abierto contra mí su boca; me insultan, me hieren en las mejillas; a una se han coaligado contra mí. They have opened their mouths against me, and, reproaching me, they have struck me on the cheek; they are nourished by my sufferings.12Dios me ha entregado al perverso, me ha arrojado en manos de malvados. God has confined me with the immoral, and he has delivered me into the hands of the impious.13Vivía yo en paz, pero Él me sacudió; me asió por la cerviz, me hizo trizas, y me eligió por blanco suyo. I, who once was wealthy, am now crushed. He has grabbed me by my neck; he has broken me and has placed me before him as a sign.14Me rodean arqueros, traspasa mis riñones sin piedad y derrama por tierra mi hiel. He has surrounded me with his lances. He has severely wounded my lower back, he has not been lenient, and he has poured out my organs upon the earth.15Me inflige herida sobre herida, corre contra mí cual gigante. He has cut me with wound after wound. He has rushed upon me like a giant.16He cosido un saco sobre mi piel, he revuelto en el polvo mi rostro. I have sewn sackcloth over my skin, and I have covered my body with ashes.17Mi cara está hinchada de tanto llorar, y la sombra de la muerte cubre mis párpados, My face is swollen from weeping, and my eyelids have dimmed my vision.18aunque no hay injusticia en mí y mi oración es pura. These things I have endured without iniquity in my hand, while I held pure prayers before God.19¡Tierra, no cubras mi sangre, y no sofoques en tu seno mi clamor! O earth, do not conceal my blood, nor let my outcry find a hiding place in you.20Aún hay un testigo mío en el cielo, en lo alto reside el que da testimonio en mi favor. For behold, my witness is in heaven, and my confidante is on high.21Mis amigos me escarnecen, mas mis ojos buscan llorando a Dios. My friends are full of words; my eye rains tears upon God.22¡Ojalá que hubiera juez entre el hombre y Dios, así como lo hay entre el hijo del hombre y su prójimo. And I wish that a man might be so judged before God, just as the son of man is judged with his assistant!23El número de mis años se va pasando, y el camino que sigo no tiene vuelta.” For behold, a few years pass by, and I am walking a path by which I will not return.
