Job 33
1“Escucha ahora, oh Job, mi palabra, y a todos mis argumentos presta oído. Therefore, hear my speeches, Job, and listen to all my words.2He aquí que abro mi boca; se mueve mi lengua para formar palabras en mi paladar. Behold, I have opened my mouth; let my tongue speak along with my throat.3Lo que diré viene de un corazón recto, mis labios profieren la pura verdad. My words are from my simple heart, and my lips will speak a pure judgment.4El Espíritu de Dios me hizo, y el soplo del Omnipotente me dio vida. The Spirit of God made me, and the breath of the Almighty gave me life.5Respóndeme, si puedes; prepárate para (contender) conmigo; tente dispuesto. If you can, answer me, and oppose me to my face.6Mira, yo soy creatura de Dios, igual que tú; también yo fui formado del barro. Behold, God has made me, just as he also has made you, and I, likewise, have been formed of the same clay.7Por eso nada tienes que temer de mí, ni te abrumará el peso de mi persona. So, truly, do not let my wonders terrify you, and do not let my eloquence be burdensome to you.8Ahora bien, tú has dicho oyéndolo yo —bien escuché el son de tus palabras—: For you have spoken in my hearing, and I have heard the voice of your words, saying:9«Inocente soy, sin pecado, limpio soy, no hay iniquidad en mí. “I am clean and without sin; I am immaculate, and there is no iniquity in me.10Pero Él busca pretextos contra mí, me considera como enemigo suyo; Yet he has discovered blame in me, and so he has treated me like his enemy.11pone en el cepo mis pies, observa todos mis pasos.» He has put my feet in fetters; he has kept watch over all my ways.”12Precisamente en esto no tienes razón; te lo explicaré. Bread becomes abominable to him in his life, and, to his soul, the meat which before he desired.21Vase consumiendo su carne hasta desaparecer, y aparecen sus huesos que no se veían. His body will waste away, and his bones, which had been covered, will be revealed.22Se acerca su vida al sepulcro, y su existencia a los que la quitan. His soul has approached corruption, and his life has drawn near to what is deadly.23Pero si hay para él un ángel, un intercesor de entre mil, que explique al hombre su deber; If there were an angel speaking for him, one among thousands, to declare the fairness of the man,24y que se compadezca de él y diga (a Dios): «Líbrale para que no baje al sepulcro; yo he hallado el rescate (de su alma).» he will have mercy on him, and he will say, “Free him, so that he will not descend to destruction. He will beg pardon from God, and he will be soothing to him; and he will look upon his face in jubilation, and he will restore his justice to man.27Cantará entonces entre los hombres, y dirá: «Yo había pecado, había pervertido la justicia, y no me fue retribuido según merecía; He will consider mankind, and he will say: “I have sinned and truly I have offended, yet I was not treated as I deserved.”28pues Él me libró del paso al sepulcro, y mi alma ve todavía la luz.» He has freed his soul from continuing into destruction, so that, in living, it may see the light.29Mira, todo esto hace Dios, dos y aun tres veces con el hombre, Behold, all these things God works three times within each one,30a fin de retraerlo de la muerte, y alumbrarlo con la luz de la vida. so that he may revive their souls from corruption and enlighten them with the light of life.31Atiende, Job; escúchame; calla, que yo hablaré. Pay attention Job, and listen to me; and remain silent, while I speak.32Si tienes algo que decir, respóndeme; habla, pues mi deseo es verte justo. Yet, if you have anything to say, answer me and speak, for I want you to be treated justly.33Si no, escúchame en silencio, y yo te enseñaré sabiduría.” But if you do not have anything to say, then listen to me. Be quiet and I will teach you wisdom.
