Lucas 19
1Entró en Jericó, e iba pasando. And having entered, he walked through Jericho.2Y he aquí que un hombre rico llamado Zaqueo, que era jefe de los publicanos, And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. And he was the leader of the tax collectors, and he was wealthy.3buscaba ver a Jesús para conocerlo, pero no lo lograba a causa de la mucha gente, porque era pequeño de estatura. And he sought to see Jesus, to see who he was. But he was unable to do so, because of the crowd, for he was small in stature.4Entonces corrió hacia adelante, y subió sobre un sicomoro para verlo, porque debía pasar por allí. And running ahead, he climbed up a sycamore tree, so that he might see him. For he was to pass near there.5Cuando Jesús llegó a este lugar, levantó los ojos y dijo: “Zaqueo, desciende pronto, porque hoy es necesario que Yo me hospede en tu casa”. And when he had arrived at the place, Jesus looked up and saw him, and he said to him: “Zacchaeus, hurry down. For today, I should lodge in your house.”6Y este descendió rápidamente, y lo recibió con alegría. And hurrying, he came down, and he received him joyfully.7Viendo lo cual, todos murmuraban y decían: “Se ha ido a hospedar en casa de un varón pecador”. And when they all saw this, they murmured, saying that he had turned aside to a sinful man.8Mas Zaqueo, puesto en pie, dijo al Señor: “Señor, he aquí que doy a los pobres la mitad de mis bienes; y si en algo he perjudicado a alguno le devuelvo el cuádruplo”. But Zacchaeus, standing still, said to the Lord: “Behold, Lord, one half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have cheated anyone in any matter, I will repay him fourfold.”9Jesús le dijo: “Hoy se obró salvación a esta casa, porque también él es un hijo de Abrahán. Jesus said to him: “Today, salvation has come to this house; because of this, he too is a son of Abraham.10Vino el Hijo del hombre a buscar y a salvar lo perdido”. For the Son of man has come to seek and to save what had been lost.”11Oyendo ellos todavía estas cosas, agregó una parábola, porque se hallaba próximo a Jerusalén, y ellos pensaban que el reino de Dios iba a ser manifestado en seguida. As they were listening to these things, continuing on, he spoke a parable, because he was nearing Jerusalem, and because they guessed that the kingdom of God might be manifested without delay.12Dijo pues: “Un hombre de noble linaje se fue a un país lejano a tomar para sí posesión de un reino y volver. Therefore, he said: “A certain man of nobility traveled to a far away region, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.13Llamó a diez de sus servidores y les entregó diez minas, diciéndoles: “Negociad hasta que yo vuelva”. And calling his ten servants, he gave them ten pounds, and he said to them: ‘Do business until I return.’14Ahora bien, sus conciudadanos lo odiaban, y enviaron una embajada detrás de él diciendo: “No queremos que ese reine sobre nosotros”. But his citizens hated him. And so they sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We do not want this one to reign over us.’15Al retornar él, después de haber recibido el reinado, dijo que le llamasen a aquellos servidores a quienes había entregado el dinero, a fin de saber lo que había negociado cada uno. And it happened that he returned, having received the kingdom. And he ordered the servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called so that he would know how much each one had earned by doing business.16Presentose el primero y dijo: “Señor, diez minas ha producido tu mina”. Now the first approached, saying: ‘Lord, your one pound has earned ten pounds.’17Le dijo: “Enhorabuena, buen servidor, ya que has sido fiel en tan poca cosa, recibe potestad sobre diez ciudades”. And he said to him: ‘Well done, good servant. Since you have been faithful in a small matter, you will hold authority over ten cities.’18Y vino el segundo y dijo: “Tu mina, Señor, ha producido cinco minas”. And the second came, saying: ‘Lord, your one pound has earned five pounds.’19A él también le dijo: “Y tú sé gobernador de cinco ciudades”. And he said to him, ‘And so, you shall be over five cities.’20Mas el otro vino diciendo: “Señor, aquí tienes tu mina, que tuve escondida en un pañuelo. And another approached, saying: ‘Lord, behold your one pound, which I kept stored in a cloth.21Pues te tenía miedo, porque tú eres un hombre duro; sacas lo que no pusiste, y siegas lo que no sembraste”. For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You take up what you did not lay down, and you reap what you did not sow.’22Replicole: “Por tu propia boca te condeno, siervo malvado. ¿Pensabas que soy hombre duro, que saco lo que no puse, y siego lo que no sembré? He said to him: ‘By your own mouth, do I judge you, O wicked servant. You knew that I am an austere man, taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow.23Y entonces por qué no diste el dinero mío al banco? (Así al menos) a mi regreso lo hubiera yo recobrado con réditos”. And so, why did you not give my money to the bank, so that, upon my return, I might have withdrawn it with interest?’24Y dijo a los que estaban allí: “Quitadle la mina, y dádsela al que tiene diez”. And he said to the bystanders, ‘Take the pound away from him, and give it to him who has ten pounds.’25Dijéronle: “Señor, tiene diez minas”. And they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten pounds.’26“Os digo: a todo el que tiene, se le dará; y al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado. So then, I say to you, that to all who have, it shall be given, and he will have in abundance. And from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.27En cuanto a mis enemigos, los que no han querido que yo reinase sobre ellos, traedlos aquí y degolladlos en mi presencia”. ‘Yet truly, as for those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here, and put them to death before me.’ ”28Después de haber dicho esto, marchó al frente subiendo a Jerusalén. And having said these things, he went ahead, ascending to Jerusalem.29Y cuando se acercó a Betfagé y Betania, junto al Monte de los Olivos, envió a dos de su discípulos, And it happened that, when he had drawn near to Bethphage and Bethania, to the mount which is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,30diciéndoles: “Id a la aldea de enfrente. Al entrar en ella, encontraréis un burrito atado sobre el cual nadie ha montado todavía; desatadlo y traedlo. saying: “Go into the town which is opposite you. Upon entering it, you will find the colt of a donkey, tied, on which no man has ever sat. Untie it, and lead it here.31Y si alguien os pregunta: “¿Por qué lo desatáis?”, diréis así: “El Señor lo necesita”. And if anyone will ask you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this to him: ‘Because the Lord has requested its service.’ ”32Los enviados partieron y encontraron las cosas como les había dicho. And those who were sent went out, and they found the colt standing, just as he told them.33Cuando desataban el burrito, los dueños les dijeron: “Por qué desatáis el pollino?” Then, as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”34Respondieron: “El Señor lo necesita”. So they said, “Because the Lord has need of it.”35Se lo llevaron a Jesús, pusieron sus mantos encima, e hicieron montar a Jesús. And they led it to Jesus. And casting their garments on the colt, they helped Jesus onto it.36Y mientras Él avanzaba, extendían sus mantos sobre el camino. And he said to them, “I tell you, that if these will keep silent, the stones themselves will cry out.”41Y cuando estuvo cerca, viendo la ciudad, lloró sobre ella. And when he drew near, seeing the city, he wept over it, saying:42y dijo: “¡Ah si en este día conocieras también tú lo que sería para la paz! Pero ahora está escondido a tus ojos. “If only you had known, indeed even in this your day, which things are for your peace. But now they are hidden from your eyes.43Porque vendrán días sobre ti, y tus enemigos te circunvalarán con un vallado, y te cercarán en derredor y te estrecharán de todas partes; For the days will overtake you. Mas los sumos sacerdotes y los escribas andaban buscando perderle, y también los jefes del pueblo; And he was teaching in the temple daily. And the leaders of the priests, and the scribes, and the leaders of the people were seeking to destroy him.48pero no acertaban con lo que habían de hacer, porque el pueblo entero estaba en suspenso, escuchándolo. But they could not find what to do to him. For all the people were listening to him attentively.
