1Y se puso a hablarles en parábolas: “Un hombre plantó una viña, la cercó con un vallado, cavó un lagar y edificó una torre; después la arrendó a unos viñadores, y se fue a otro país. And he began to speak to them in parables: “A man dug a vineyard, and surrounded it with a hedge, and dug a pit, and built a tower, and he loaned it out to farmers, and he set out on a long journey.2A su debido tiempo, envió un siervo a los viñadores para recibir de ellos su parte de los frutos de la viña. And in time, he sent a servant to the farmers, in order to receive some of the fruit of the vineyard from the farmers.3Pero ellos lo agarraron, lo apalearon y lo remitieron con las manos vacías. But they, having apprehended him, beat him and sent him away empty.4Entonces, les envió otro siervo, al cual descalabraron y ultrajaron; And again, he sent another servant to them. And they wounded him on the head, and they treated him with contempt.5y otro, al cual mataron; después otros muchos, de los cuales apalearon a unos y mataron a otros. And then the inheritance will be ours.’8Lo agarraron, pues, lo mataron y lo arrojaron fuera de la viña. And apprehending him, they killed him. And they cast him out of the vineyard.9¿Qué hará el dueño de la viña? Vendrá y acabará con los viñadores, y entregará la viña a otros. Therefore, what will the lord of the vineyard do?” “He will come and destroy the settlers. And he will give the vineyard to others.”10¿No habéis leído esta Escritura: «La piedra que desecharon los que edificaban, esta ha venido a ser cabeza de esquina; “And so, have you not read this scripture?: ‘The stone which the builders have rejected, the same has been made the head of the corner.11de parte del Señor esto ha sido hecho, y es maravilloso a nuestros ojos?»” By the Lord has this been done, and it is wondrous in our eyes.’ ”12Trataron, entonces, de prenderlo, pero temían al pueblo. For they knew that he had spoken this parable about them. And leaving him behind, they went away.13Le enviaron, después, algunos fariseos y herodianos, a fin de enredarlo en alguna palabra. Is it lawful to give the tribute to Caesar, or should we not give it?”15Mas Él, conociendo su hipocresía, les dijo: “¿Por qué me tendéis un lazo? Traedme un denario, para que Yo lo vea”. And knowing their skill in deception, he said to them: “Why do you test me? Bring me a denarius, so that I may see it.”16Se lo trajeron, y Él les preguntó: “¿De quién es esta figura y la leyenda?” Le respondieron: “Del César”. And they brought it to him. And he said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to him, “Caesar’s.”17Entonces, Jesús les dijo: “Dad al César lo que es del César; y a Dios lo que es de Dios”. So in response, Jesus said to them, “Then render to Caesar, the things that are of Caesar; and to God, the things that are of God.” And they wondered over him.18Acercáronsele también algunos saduceos, que dicen que no hay resurrección, y le propusieron esta cuestión: And the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, approached him. And they questioned him, saying:19“Maestro, Moisés nos ha prescrito, si el hermano de alguno muere dejando mujer y no deja hijos, tome su hermano la mujer de él y dé prole a su hermano. “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if any man’s brother will have died and left behind a wife, and not have left behind sons, his brother should take his wife to himself and should raise up offspring for his brother.20Ahora bien, eran siete hermanos. Porque los siete la tuvieron por mujer”. Therefore, in the resurrection, when they will rise again, to which of them will she be a wife? For each of the seven had her as wife.”24Mas Jesús les dijo: “¿No erráis, acaso, por no conocer las Escrituras ni el poder de Dios? And Jesus responded by saying to them: “But have you not gone astray, by knowing neither the scriptures, nor the power of God?25Porque, cuando resuciten de entre los muertos, no se casarán (los hombres ), ni se darán en matrimonio (las mujeres), sino que serán como ángeles en el cielo. For when they will be resurrected from the dead, they shall neither marry, nor be given in marriage, but they are like the Angels in heaven.26Y en cuanto a que los muertos resucitan, ¿no habéis leído en el libro de Moisés, en el episodio de la Zarza, cómo Dios le dijo: «Yo soy el Dios de Abrahán y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob?» But concerning the dead who rise again, have you not read in the book of Moses, how God spoke to him from the bush, saying: ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’27Él no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos. Vosotros estáis, pues, en un gran error”. He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. Therefore, you have gone far astray.”28Llegó también un escriba que los había oído discutir; y viendo lo bien que Él les había respondido, le propuso esta cuestión: “¿Cuál es el primero de todos los mandamientos?” And one of the scribes, who had heard them arguing, drew near to him. And seeing that he had answered them well, he questioned him as to which was the first commandment of all.29Jesús respondió: “El primero es: «Oye, Israel, el Señor nuestro Dios, un solo Señor es. And Jesus answered him: “For the first commandment of all is this: ‘Listen, O Israel. The Lord your God is one God.30Y amarás al Señor tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente, y con toda tu fuerza»” And you shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart, and from your whole soul, and from your whole mind, and from your whole strength. This is the first commandment.’31El segundo es: «Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo». No existe mandamiento mayor que estos”. But the second is similar to it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”32Díjole el escriba: “Maestro, bien has dicho; en verdad, que «Él es único, que no hay otro más que Él». Y nadie osó más proponerle cuestiones. And Jesus, seeing that he had responded wisely, said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that, no one dared to question him.35Entonces, Jesús, tomando la palabra, enseñaba en el Templo diciendo: “¿Cómo dicen los escribas que el Cristo es hijo de David?
