Salmos 104

1Celebrad a Yahvé, aclamad su Nombre, proclamad entre los gentiles sus proezas. Alleluia. Confess to the Lord, and invoke his name. Announce his works among the nations.2Cantadle, entonadle salmos, relatad todas sus obras maravillosas. Sing to him, and sing psalms to him. Describe all his wonders.3Gloriaos de su santo Nombre; alégrese el corazón de los que buscan a Yahvé. Be praised in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice.4Fijaos en Yahvé y su fortaleza, buscad sin cesar su rostro. Seek the Lord, and be confirmed. Seek his face always.5Acordaos de las maravillas que hizo, de sus prodigios y de las sentencias de su boca, Remember his miracles, which he has done, his portents and the judgments of his mouth:6vosotros, descendencia de Abrahán, su siervo, hijos de Jacob, su escogido. you offspring of Abraham his servant, you sons of Jacob his elect.7El mismo Yahvé es nuestro Dios; sus juicios prevalecen en toda la tierra. He is the Lord our God. His judgments are throughout the entire earth.8Se acuerda siempre de su alianza, promesa que hizo por mil generaciones; He has remembered his covenant for all ages: the word that he entrusted to a thousand generations,9del pacto concertado con Abrahán, del juramento que hizo a Isaac, which he assigned to Abraham, and his oath to Isaac.10que confirmó a Jacob, como firme decreto, y como testamento eterno a Israel, And he stationed the same for Jacob with a precept, and for Israel with an eternal testament,11diciendo: “A ti te daré la tierra de Canaán, como porción hereditaria vuestra.” saying: To you, I will give the land of Canaan, the allotment of your inheritance.12Cuando eran pocos en número, muy pocos, y peregrinos en aquella tierra, Though they may have been but a small number, very few and foreigners there,13y vagaban de nación en nación, y de este reino a aquel pueblo, and though they passed from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people,14a nadie permitió que los oprimiese, y por causa de ellos castigó a reyes: he allowed no man to harm them, and he reproved kings on their behalf.15“Guardaos de tocar a mis ungidos, ni hacer mal a mis profetas.” Do not be willing to touch my Christ, and do not be willing to malign my prophets.16Atrajo el hambre sobre aquella tierra, y se retiró toda provisión de pan. And he called a famine upon the land, and he crushed every foundation of the bread.17Envió delante de ellos a un varón: a José vendido como esclavo. He sent a man before them: Joseph, who had been sold as a slave.18Le habían atado los pies con grillos, y encerrado en hierro su cuello, They humbled his feet in shackles; the iron pierced his soul,19hasta que se cumplió lo que él predijo, y la Palabra del Señor lo acreditó. until his word arrived. The eloquence of the Lord inflamed him.20Mandó desatarlo el rey, el soberano de aquellos pueblos, y lo libertó. The king sent and released him; he was the ruler of the people, and he dismissed him.21Lo constituyó señor de su propia casa, y príncipe de todos sus dominios, He established him as master of his house and ruler of all his possessions,22para que a su arbitrio instruyese a los magnates y enseñara sabiduría a los ancianos. so that he might instruct his princes as himself, and teach his elders prudence.23Entonces entró Israel en Egipto; Jacob fue peregrino en tierra de Cam. And Israel entered into Egypt, and Jacob became a sojourner in the land of Ham.24Y Él multiplicó a su pueblo en gran manera, y le hizo más poderoso que sus adversarios. And he helped his people greatly, and he strengthened them over their enemies.25Mudó a estos el corazón para que odiasen a su pueblo, y urdiesen tramas contra sus siervos. He turned their heart to hate his people, and to deal deceitfully with his servants.26Entonces envió a Moisés su siervo, a Aarón, el elegido, He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron, the one whom he chose.27quienes obraron entre ellos sus maravillas y prodigios en la tierra de Cam. He placed with them signs of his word, and portents in the land of Ham.28Mandó tinieblas, y se hizo oscuridad, mas se resistieron contra sus palabras. He sent darkness and made it conceal, and he did not afflict them with his speech.29Convirtió sus aguas en sangre e hizo morir sus peces. He turned their waters into blood, and he slaughtered their fish.30Su tierra brotó ranas hasta en la cámara de sus reyes. Their land brought forth frogs, even in the inner chambers of their kings.31Habló, y vinieron enjambres de moscas y mosquitos por todos sus confines. He spoke, and there came forth common flies and gnats, in every region.32Por lluvia les mandó granizo, y fuego que inflamaba su tierra, He gave them a shower of hail and a burning fire, in the same land.33y destruyó sus viñas y sus higueras, y destrozó los árboles en su territorio. And he struck their vineyards and their fig trees, and he crushed the trees of their region.34A una orden suya vinieron langostas, y orugas sin número, He spoke, and the locust came forth, and the caterpillar, of which there was no number.35que devoraron toda la hierba de sus prados, y comieron los frutos de sus campos. And it devoured all the grass in their land, and it consumed all the fruit of their land.36Y dio muerte a todo primogénito en su tierra, las primicias de todo su vigor. And he struck all the first-born in their land, the first-fruits of all their labor.37Mas a ellos los sacó con oro y plata, sin un enfermo en todas sus tribus. And he led them out with silver and gold, and there was not an infirm one among their tribes.38Alegráronse los egipcios de su salida, pues los había sobrecogido el terror. Egypt was joyful at their departure, for the fear of them lay heavy upon them.39Extendió Él una nube para cubrirlos, y un fuego que resplandeciese de noche. He spread a cloud for their protection, and a fire, to give them light through the night.40Pidieron, y les envió codornices; y los sació con pan del cielo. They petitioned, and the quail came; and he satisfied them with the bread of heaven.41Hendió la peña, y brotaron aguas, que corrieron por el desierto como arroyos. He ruptured the rock and the waters flowed: rivers gushed in the dry land.42Porque se acordó de su santa palabra, que había dado a Abrahán, su siervo. For he had called to mind his holy word, which he kept near to his servant Abraham.43Así sacó a su pueblo con alegría, con júbilo a sus escogidos. And he led forth his people in exultation, and his elect in rejoicing.44Y les dio las tierras de los gentiles y poseyeron los bienes de los pueblos, And he gave them the regions of the Gentiles, and they possessed the labors of the peoples,45para que guardaran sus mandamientos y obedecieran sus leyes. ¡Hallelú Yah! so that they might observe his justifications, and inquire about his law.
