Salmos 16

1Oración de David. Escucha, oh Yahvé, una justa demanda; atiende a mi clamor; oye mi plegaria, que no brota de labios hipócritas. A Prayer of David. Lord, listen to my justice, attend to my supplication. Pay attention to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.2Que mi sentencia venga de Ti; tus ojos ven lo que es recto. Let my judgment proceed from your presence. Let your eyes behold fairness.3Si escrutas mi corazón, si me visitas en la noche, si me pruebas por el fuego, no encontrarás malicia en mí. You have tested my heart and visited it by night. You have examined me by fire, and iniquity has not been found in me.4Que jamás mi boca se exceda a la manera de los hombres. Ateniéndome a las palabras de tus labios, he guardado los caminos de la Ley. Therefore, may my mouth not speak the works of men. I have kept to difficult ways because of the words of your lips.5Firmemente se adhirieron mis pasos a tus senderos, y mis pies no han titubeado. Perfect my steps in your paths, so that my footsteps may not be disturbed.6Te invoco, oh Dios, porque sé que Tú responderás; inclina a mi tu oído, y oye mis palabras. I have cried out because you, O God, have listened to me. Incline your ear to me and heed my words.7Ostenta tu maravillosa misericordia, oh Salvador de los que se refugian en tu diestra, contra tus enemigos. Make your mercies wonderful, for you save those who hope in you.8Cuídame como a la niña de tus ojos, escóndeme bajo la sombra de tus alas From those who resist your right hand, preserve me like the pupil of your eye. Protect me under the shadow of your wings,9de la vista de los impíos que me hacen violencia, de los enemigos furiosos que me rodean. from the face of the impious who have afflicted me. My enemies have surrounded my soul.10Han cerrado con grasa su corazón; por su boca habla la arrogancia. They have concealed their fatness; their mouth has been speaking arrogantly.11Ahora me rodean espiando, con la mira de echarme por tierra, They have cast me out, and now they have surrounded me. They have cast their eyes down to the earth.12cual león ávido de presa, como cachorro que asecha en su guarida. They have taken me, like a lion ready for the prey, and like a young lion dwelling in hiding.13Levántate, Yahvé, hazle frente y derríbalo, líbrame del perverso con tu espada; Rise up, O Lord, arrive before him and displace him. Deliver my soul from the impious one: your spear from the enemies of your hand.14y con tu mano, oh Yahvé, líbrame de estos hombres del siglo, cuya porción es esta vida, y cuyo vientre Tú llenas con tus dádivas; quedan hartos sus hijos, y dejan sobrante a los nietos. Lord, divide them from the few of the earth in their life. Their gut has been filled from your hidden stores. They have been filled with sons, and they have bequeathed to their little ones the remainder.15Yo, empero, con la justicia tuya llegaré a ver tu rostro; me saciaré al despertarme, con tu gloria. But as for me, I will appear before your sight in justice. I will be satisfied when your glory appears.
