1Al maestro de coro. De los hijos de Coré. Maskil. Unto the end. To the sons of Korah, toward understanding.2Oímos, oh Dios, con nuestros oídos, nos contaron nuestros padres, los prodigios que hiciste en sus días, en los días antiguos. We have heard, O God, with our own ears. Our fathers have announced to us the work that you wrought in their days and in the days of antiquity.3Tú, con tu mano, expulsando pueblos gentiles, los plantaste a ellos; destruyendo naciones, a ellos los propagaste. Your hand dispersed the Gentiles, and you transplanted them. You afflicted a people, and you expelled them.4Pues no por su espada ocuparon la tierra, ni su brazo les dio la victoria; fue tu diestra y tu brazo, y la luz de tu rostro; porque Tú los amabas. For they did not take possession of the land by their sword, and their own arm did not save them. But your right hand and your arm, and the light of your countenance did so, because you were pleased with them.5Tú eres mi Rey, mi Dios, Tú, el que dio la victoria a Jacob. You yourself are my king and my God, who commands the salvation of Jacob.6Por Ti batimos a nuestros enemigos; y en nombre tuyo hollamos a los que se levantaron contra nosotros. With you, we will brandish a horn before our enemies; and in your name, we will spurn those rising up against us.7Porque no en mi arco puse mi confianza, ni me salvó mi espada, For I will not hope in my bow, and my sword will not save me.8sino que Tú nos has salvado de nuestros adversarios, y has confundido a los que nos odian. For you have saved us from those who afflict us, and you have bewildered those who hate us.9En Dios nos gloriábamos cada día, y continuamente celebrábamos tu Nombre. In God, we will give praise all day long; and in your name, we will confess forever.10Pero ahora Tú nos has repelido y humillado; ya no sales, oh Dios, con nuestros ejércitos. But now, you have rejected and bewildered us, and you will not go forth with our armies, O God.11Nos hiciste ceder ante nuestros enemigos, y los que nos odian nos han saqueado como han querido. You have turned our back to our enemies, and those who hated us have plundered for themselves.12Nos entregaste como ovejas destinadas al matadero, y nos desparramaste entre los gentiles. You have given us over like sheep for food. You have scattered us among the Gentiles.13Vendiste a tu pueblo sin precio, y no sacaste gran provecho de esa venta. You have sold your people without a price, and no great number was exchanged for them.14Nos hiciste el escarnio de nuestros vecinos, la irrisión y el ludibrio de los que nos rodean. You have set us as a disgrace to our neighbors, a scoff and a derision to those who are around us.15Nos convertiste en fábula de los gentiles, y recibimos de los pueblos meneos de cabeza. You have set us as a parable among the Gentiles, a shaking of the head among the peoples.16Todo el día tengo ante los ojos mi ignominia, y la confusión cubre mi rostro, All day long my shame is before me, and the confusion of my face has covered me,17a los gritos del que me insulta y envilece, a la vista del enemigo, ávido de venganza. before the voice of the reproacher and the commentator, before the face of the adversary and the pursuer.18Todo esto ha venido sobre nosotros, mas no nos hemos olvidado de Ti, ni hemos quebrantado el pacto hecho contigo. All these things have come upon us, yet we have not forgotten you, and we have not acted unjustly in your covenant.19No volvió atrás nuestro corazón, ni nuestro paso se apartó de tu camino, And our heart has not turned back. And you have not diverted our steps from your way.20cuando nos aplastaste en un lugar de chacales y nos cubriste con sombras de muerte. For you humbled us in a place of affliction, and the shadow of death has covered us.21Si nos hubiéramos olvidado del nombre de nuestro Dios, extendiendo nuestras manos a un Dios extraño, If we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have extended our hands to a foreign god,22¿no lo habría averiguado Dios, Él, que conoce los secretos del corazón? will not God find this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart. For, because of you, we are being killed all day long. We are considered as sheep for the slaughter.23Mas por tu causa somos ahora carneados cada día, tenidos como ovejas de matadero. Rise up. Why do you fall asleep, O Lord? Rise up, and do not reject us in the end.24Despierta, Señor. ¿Por qué duermes? Levántate; no nos deseches para siempre. Why do you turn your face away, and why do you forget our needfulness and our tribulation?25¿Por qué ocultas tu rostro? ¿Te olvidas de nuestra miseria y de nuestra opresión? For our soul has been humbled into the dust. Our belly has been bound to the earth.26Agobiada hasta el polvo está nuestra alma, y nuestro cuerpo pegado a la tierra. ¡Levántate en nuestro auxilio, líbranos por tu piedad! Rise up, O Lord. Help us and redeem us, because of your name.
