Salmos 54
1Al maestro de coro. Para instrumentos de cuerda. Maskil de David. Unto the end. In verses, the understanding of David.2Escucha oh Dios, mi oración, y no te escondas de mi súplica. Listen to my prayer, O God, and despise not my supplication.3Atiéndeme, inclina tu oído. Vago gimiendo y sobresaltado [y estoy turbado] Be attentive to me, and heed me. I have been grieved in my training, and I have been disturbed4ante las amenazas del enemigo y la opresión del inicuo; se acumulan calamidades sobre mí y me asaltan con furor. at the voice of the adversary and at the tribulation of the sinner. For they have diverted iniquities toward me, and they have been harassing me with rage.5El corazón tiembla en mi pecho, y me acometen mortales angustias. My heart has become disturbed within me, and the dread of death has fallen over me.6El temor y el terror me invaden, y me envuelve el espanto. Fear and trembling have overwhelmed me, and darkness has buried me.7Y exclamo: “¡Oh si tuviera yo alas como la paloma para volar en busca de reposo!” And I said, “Who will give me wings like the dove, so that I may fly away and take rest?”8Me iría bien lejos a morar en el desierto. Behold, I have fled far away, and I linger in solitude.9Me escaparía al instante del torbellino y de la tempestad. I waited for him who saved me from a weak-minded spirit and from a tempest.10Piérdelos, Señor; divide sus lenguas, pues en la ciudad veo la violencia y la discordia Cast them down, O Lord, and divide their tongues. For I have seen iniquity and contradiction in the city.11rondar día y noche sobre sus muros; y en su interior hay opresión y ruina. Day and night, iniquity will surround it upon its walls, and hardship is in its midst,12La insidia impera en medio de ella, y de sus plazas no se apartan la injuria y el engaño. with injustice. And usury and deceit have not fallen away from its streets.13Si me insultara un enemigo, lo soportaría; si el que me odia se hubiese levantado contra mí, me escondería de él simplemente. For if my enemy had spoken evil about me, certainly, I would have sustained it. And if he who hated me had been speaking great things against me, I would perhaps have hidden myself from him.14Pero eres tú, mi compañero, mi amigo y mi confidente, Truly, you are a man of one mind: my leader and my acquaintance,15con quien vivía yo en dulce intimidad, y subíamos en alegre consorcio a la casa de Dios. who took sweet food together with me. In the house of God, we walked side-by-side.16Sorpréndalos la muerte; vivos aún desciendan al sepulcro, porque la maldad reina en sus moradas [y en ellos mismos]. Let death come upon them, and let them descend alive into Hellfire. For there is wickedness in their dwellings, in their midst.17Mas yo clamaré a Dios, y Yahvé me salvará. But I have cried out to God, and the Lord will save me.18Me lamentaré y lloraré a la tarde, a la mañana, a mediodía, y Él oirá mi voz. Evening and morning and midday, I will discourse and announce, and he will heed my voice.19Me sacará sano y salvo de los asaltos, aunque son muchos contra mí. He will redeem my soul in peace from those who draw near to me. For, among the many, they were with me.20Me escuchará Dios y los humillará Él, que es eternamente. Porque no hay modo de convertirlos, y no temen a Dios. God will hear, and He who is before time will humble them. For there is no change with them, and they have not feared God.21Cada cual levanta su mano contra el amigo, y violan la fe jurada. He has stretched forth his hand in retribution. They have contaminated his covenant.22Más blando que manteca es su rostro, pero su corazón es feroz; sus palabras, más untuosas que el aceite, son espadas desnudas. They were divided by the wrath of his countenance, and his heart has drawn near. His words are smoother than oil, and they are arrows.23Deja tu cuidado a cargo de Yahvé, y Él te sostendrá. Nunca permitirá que el justo caiga; Cast your cares upon the Lord, and he will nurture you. He will not allow the just to be tossed about forever.24mas a ellos, oh Dios, los harás descender a la fosa. No llegarán a la mitad de sus días esos hombres sanguinarios y fraudulentos. Yo, empero, pongo en Ti mi confianza, oh Señor. Truly, O God, you will lead them away into the well of death. Bloody and deceitful men will not divide their days in half. But I will hope in you, O Lord.
