Salmos 58
1Al maestro de coro. Por el tono de “No destruyas”. De David. Miktam. Cuando Saúl mandó hombres que vigilaran la casa para matarlo. Unto the end. May you not destroy. Of David, with the inscription of a title, when Saul sent and watched his house, in order to execute him.2Dios mío, sálvame de mis enemigos; defiéndeme de los que me atacan. Rescue me from my enemies, my God, and free me from those who rise up against me.3Líbrame de los que obran iniquidades y protégeme contra los hombres sanguinarios. Rescue me from those who work iniquity, and save me from men of blood.4Mira: ponen asechanzas a mi vida, y hombres poderosos conspiran contra mí. No hay en mí delito ni pecado, Yahvé. For behold, they have seized my soul. The strong have rushed upon me.5Sin culpa mía irrumpen y me asaltan. Despierta Tú, ven a mí y mira. And it is neither my iniquity, nor my sin, O Lord. I have run and gone directly, without iniquity.6Porque Tú, Yahvé, Dios de los ejércitos, eres el Dios de Israel. Levántate a castigar a todos los gentiles; no te apiades de ninguno de los pérfidos. Rise up to meet me, and see: even you, O Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel. Reach out to visit all nations. Do not take pity on all those who work iniquity.7Vuelven al anochecer, aullando como perros, y giran en torno de la ciudad. They will return toward evening, and they will suffer hunger like dogs, and they will wander around the city.8Mira la jactancia en su boca, y cómo injurian sus labios:.. “¿Quién hay que (nos) oiga?” Behold, they will speak with their mouth, and a sword is in their lips: “For who has heard us?”9Mas Tú, Yahvé te ríes de ellos; harás befa de todos los gentiles. And you, O Lord, will laugh at them. You will lead all the Gentiles to nothing.10Oh fortaleza mía, a Ti cantaré. Verdaderamente mi alcázar es Dios. I will guard my strength toward you, for you are God, my supporter.11La misericordia de mi Dios se me anticipará y me hará mirar con alegría a mis enemigos. My God, his mercy will precede me.12No les des tregua, oh Dios; no sean tropiezo para mi pueblo. Confúndelos con tu poder y póstralos, oh Señor, escudo nuestro. God will oversee my enemies for me. Do not slay them, lest at times my people may forget them. Scatter them by your virtue. And depose them, O Lord, my protector,13Pecado de su boca es cuanto profieren sus labios; sean presa de su propia soberbia, de sus maldiciones y de sus mentiras. by the offense of their mouth and by the speech of their lips. And may they be caught in their arrogance. And, for their cursing and lying, they will be made known14Destrúyelos en tu saña, destrúyelos hasta que ya no existan; entonces se sabrá que Dios reina en Jacob y hasta los confines del orbe. at the consummation, in the fury of the consummation, and so they will be no more. And they will know that God will rule over Jacob, even to the ends of the earth.15Vuelvan al anochecer, aullando como perros, y giren en torno de la ciudad; They will return toward evening, and they will suffer hunger like dogs, and they will wander around the city.16vaguen buscando qué comer, y si no se sacian, den aullidos. They will be dispersed in order to gnaw, and truly, when they will not have been satisfied, they will murmur.17Entretanto, yo cantaré tu potencia, y desde la mañana saltaré de gozo por tu misericordia; porque fuiste mi protector, y mi refugio en el día de la tribulación. But I will sing your strength, and I will extol your mercy, in the morning. For you have been my supporter and my refuge in the day of my tribulation.18Oh fortaleza mía, a Ti cantaré. Verdaderamente mi alcázar es Dios, el Dios misericordiosísimo conmigo. To you, my helper, I will sing psalms. For you are God, my supporter. My God is my mercy.
