Romanos 2

1Por lo tanto no tienes excusa, oh hombre, quienquiera que seas, al juzgar; porque en lo que juzgas a otro, a ti mismo te condenas; puesto que tú que juzgas incurres en lo mismo. For this reason, O man, each one of you who judges is inexcusable. For by that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you do the same things that you judge.2Pues sabemos que el juicio de Dios contra los que practican tales cosas, es según la verdad. For we know that the judgment of God is in accord with truth against those who do such things.3¿Piensas tú, oh hombre, que juzgas a los que tales cosas hacen y las practicas tú mismo, que escaparás al juicio de Dios? But, O man, when you judge those who do such things as you yourself also do, do you think that you will escape the judgment of God?4¿O desprecias la riqueza de su bondad, paciencia y longanimidad, ignorando que la benignidad de Dios te lleva al arrepentimiento? Or do you despise the riches of his goodness and patience and forbearance? Do you not know that the kindness of God is calling you to repentance?5Conforme a tu dureza y tu corazón impenitente, te atesoras ira para el día de la cólera y de la revelación del justo juicio de Dios, But in accord with your hard and impenitent heart, you store up wrath for yourself, unto the day of wrath and of revelation by the just judgment of God.6el cual dará a cada uno el pago según sus obras: For he will render to each one according to his works:7a los que, perseverando en el bien obrar, buscan gloria y honra e incorruptibilidad, vida eterna; To those who, in accord with patient good works, seek glory and honor and incorruption, certainly, he will render eternal life.8mas a los rebeldes, y a los que no obedecen a la verdad, pero sí obedecen a la injusticia, ira y enojo. But to those who are contentious and who do not acquiesce to the truth, but instead trust in iniquity, he will render wrath and indignation.9Tribulación y angustia para toda alma humana que obra el mal: primero para el judío, y también para el griego; Tribulation and anguish are upon every soul of man that works evil: the Jew first, and also the Greek.10pero gloria y honra y paz para aquel que obra el bien: primero para el judío, y también para el griego. But glory and honor and peace are for all who do what is good: the Jew first, and also the Greek.11Pues en Dios no hay acepción de personas. For there is no favoritism with God.12Porque cuantos han pecado sin la Ley, sin la Ley también perecerán; y cuantos han pecado bajo la Ley, según la Ley serán juzgados. For whoever had sinned without the law, will perish without the law. And whoever had sinned in the law, will be judged by the law.13Pues no los que oyen la Ley son justos ante Dios; sino que serán justificados los que cumplen la Ley. For it is not the hearers of the law who are just before God, but rather it is the doers of the law who shall be justified.14Cuando los gentiles, que no tienen Ley, hacen por la razón natural las cosas de la Ley, ellos, sin tener Ley, son Ley para sí mismos, For when the Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature those things which are of the law, such persons, not having the law, are a law unto themselves.15pues muestran que la obra de la Ley está escrita en sus corazones, por cuanto les da testimonio su conciencia y sus razonamientos, acusándolos o excusándolos recíprocamente. For they reveal the work of the law written in their hearts, while their conscience renders testimony about them, and their thoughts within themselves also accuse or even defend them,16Así será, pues, en el día en que juzgará Dios por medio de Jesucristo, los secretos de los hombres según mi Evangelio. unto the day when God shall judge the hidden things of men, through Jesus Christ, according to my Gospel.17Pero, si tú que te llamas judío, y descansas sobre la Ley, y te glorías en Dios, But if you are called by name a Jew, and you rest upon the law, and you find glory in God,18y conoces su voluntad, y experimentas las cosas excelentes, siendo amaestrado por la Ley, and you have known his will, and you demonstrate the more useful things, having been instructed by the law:19y presumes de ser guía de ciegos, luz para los que están en tinieblas, you become confident within yourself that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,20educador de ignorantes, maestro de niños, teniendo en la Ley la norma del saber y de la verdad, an instructor to the foolish, a teacher to children, because you have a type of knowledge and truth in the law.21tú pues, que enseñas a otro, ¿no te enseñas a ti mismo? Tú que predicas que no se debe hurtar, ¿hurtas? As a result, you teach others, but you do not teach yourself. You preach that men should not steal, but you yourself steal.22Tú que dices que no se debe adulterar, ¿cometes adulterio? Tú que aborreces a los ídolos, ¿saqueas los templos? You speak against adultery, but you commit adultery. You abominate idols, but you commit sacrilege.23Tú que te glorías en la Ley, ¿traspasando la Ley deshonras a Dios? You would glory in the law, but through a betrayal of the law you dishonor God.24“Porque el nombre de Dios es blasfemado por causa de vosotros entre los gentiles”, según está escrito. (For because of you the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles, just as it was written.)25La circuncisión en verdad aprovecha si cumples la Ley, mas si eres transgresor de la Ley, tu circuncisión se ha hecho incircuncisión. Certainly, circumcision is beneficial, if you observe the law. But if you are a betrayer of the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision.26Si, pues, los incircuncisos guardaren los preceptos de la Ley, ¿no se reputará su incircuncisión por circuncisión? And so, if the uncircumcised keep the justices of the law, shall not this lack of circumcision be counted as circumcision?27Y aquellos que en naturaleza son incircuncisos, si cumplieren la Ley, ¿no te juzgarán a ti que, con la letra y la circuncisión, eres transgresor de la Ley? And that which is by nature uncircumcised, if it fulfills the law, should it not judge you, who by the letter and by circumcision are a betrayer of the law?28Porque no es judío el que lo es exteriormente, ni es circuncisión la que se hace por fuera en la carne; For a Jew is not he who seems so outwardly. Neither is circumcision that which seems so outwardly, in the flesh.29antes bien es judío el que lo es en lo interior, y es circuncisión la del corazón según el espíritu y no según la letra, cuya alabanza no es de los hombres sino de Dios. But a Jew is he who is so inwardly. And circumcision of the heart is in the spirit, not in the letter. For its praise is not of men, but of God.
