Romanos 6
1¿Qué diremos, pues? ¿Permaneceremos en el pecado, para que abunde la gracia? So what shall we say? Should we remain in sin, so that grace may abound?2De ninguna manera. Los que hemos muerto al pecado, ¿cómo viviremos todavía en él? Let it not be so! For how can we who have died to sin still live in sin?3¿Ignoráis acaso que cuantos fuimos bautizados en Cristo Jesús, en su muerte fuimos bautizados? Do you not know that those of us who have been baptized in Christ Jesus have been baptized into his death?4Por eso fuimos, mediante el bautismo, sepultados junto con Él en la muerte, a fin de que como Cristo fue resucitado de entre los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros caminemos en nueva vida. For through baptism we have been buried with him into death, so that, in the manner that Christ rose from the dead, by the glory of the Father, so may we also walk in the newness of life.5Pues si hemos sido injertados (en Él) en la semejanza de su muerte, lo seremos también en la de su resurrección, For if we have been planted together, in the likeness of his death, so shall we also be, in the likeness of his resurrection.6sabiendo que nuestro hombre viejo fue crucificado (con Él) para que el cuerpo del pecado sea destruido, a fin de que no sirvamos más al pecado; For we know this: that our former selves have been crucified together with him, so that the body which is of sin may be destroyed, and moreover, so that we may no longer serve sin.7pues el que murió, justificado está del pecado. For he who has died has been justified from sin.8Y si hemos muerto con Cristo, creemos que viviremos también con Él; Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live together with Christ.9sabiendo que Cristo, resucitado de entre los muertos, ya no muere; la muerte ya no puede tener dominio sobre Él. For we know that Christ, in rising up from the dead, can no longer die: death no longer has dominion over him.10Porque la muerte que Él murió, la murió al pecado una vez para siempre; mas la vida que Él vive, la vive para Dios. For in as much as he died for sin, he died once. But in as much as he lives, he lives for God.11Así también vosotros teneos por muertos para el pecado, pero vivos para Dios en Cristo Jesús. And so, you should consider yourselves to be certainly dead to sin, and to be living for God in Christ Jesus our Lord.12No reine, pues, el pecado en vuestro cuerpo mortal, de modo que obedezcáis a sus concupiscencias, Therefore, let not sin reign in your mortal body, such that you would obey its desires.13ni sigáis ofreciendo al pecado vuestros miembros como armas de iniquidad; antes bien, ofreceos vosotros mismos a Dios, como resucitados de entre los muertos, y vuestros miembros como armas de justicia para Dios. Nor should you offer the parts of your body as instruments of iniquity for sin. Instead, offer yourselves to God, as if you were living after death, and offer the parts of your body as instruments of justice for God.14Porque el pecado no tendrá dominio sobre vosotros; pues no estáis bajo la Ley, sino bajo la gracia. For sin should not have dominion over you. For you are not under the law, but under grace.15Entonces ¿qué? ¿Pecaremos por cuanto no estamos bajo la Ley sino bajo la gracia? De ninguna manera. What is next? Should we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? Let it not be so!16¿No sabéis que si a alguien os entregáis como esclavos para obedecerle, esclavos sois de aquel a quien obedecéis, sea del pecado para muerte, sea de la obediencia para justicia? Do you not know to whom you are offering yourselves as servants under obedience? You are the servants of whomever you obey: whether of sin, unto death, or of obedience, unto justice.17Pero gracias a Dios, así como erais esclavos del pecado, habéis venido a ser obedientes de corazón a aquella forma de doctrina, a la cual os entregasteis; But thanks be to God that, though you used to be the servants of sin, now you have been obedient from the heart to the very form of the doctrine into which you have been received.18y libertados del pecado vinisteis a ser siervos de la justicia. And having been freed from sin, we have become servants of justice.19Hablo como suelen hablar los hombres, a causa de la flaqueza de vuestra carne. Porque así como para iniquidad entregasteis vuestros miembros como esclavos a la impureza y a la iniquidad, así ahora entregad vuestros miembros como siervos a la justicia para la santificación. I am speaking in human terms because of the infirmity of your flesh. For just as you offered the parts of your body to serve impurity and iniquity, for the sake of iniquity, so also have you now yielded the parts of your body to serve justice, for the sake of sanctification.20En efecto, cuando erais esclavos del pecado estabais independizados en cuanto a la justicia. For though you were once the servants of sin, you have become the children of justice.21¿Qué fruto lograbais entonces de aquellas cosas de que ahora os avergonzáis, puesto que su fin es la muerte? But what fruit did you hold at that time, in those things about which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.22Mas ahora, libertados del pecado, y hechos siervos para Dios, tenéis vuestro fruto en la santificación y como fin vida eterna. Yet truly, having been freed now from sin, and having been made servants of God, you hold your fruit in sanctification, and truly its end is eternal life.23Porque el salario del pecado es la muerte, mas la gracia de Dios es vida eterna en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro. For the wages of sin is death. But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
