Sabiduría 10
1Ella guardó al que fue por Dios formado primer padre del mundo, habiendo sido creado él solo; This is he, who was formed first by God, the father of the world, who was alone when created; she preserved him,2y ella le sacó de su pecado, y le dio potestad para gobernar todas las cosas. and led him out of his offense, and gave him the power to maintain all things.3Luego que apostató de esta el impío, arrebatado de la ira, se halló perdido por la furia del homicidio fraterno. After this, when the unjust man withdrew from her in his anger, he perished through anger by the murder of his brother.4Y cuando por causa de él las aguas anegaron la tierra, la Sabiduría puso nuevamente remedio, conduciendo al justo en un leño despreciable. For, in disregarding wisdom, they are fallen, not so much in this, that they were ignorant of good, but that they bequeathed to men a memorial of their foolishness, so that, in the things in which they sinned, they were unable to escape notice.9Al contrario, la sabiduría libró de los dolores a los que la respetaban. Yet wisdom has freed from sorrow those who are self-observant.10Ella condujo por caminos seguros al justo, cuando huía de la ira de su hermano; le mostró el reino de Dios, y le dio la ciencia de los santos; le enriqueció en medio de las fatigas, y recompensó sus trabajos. She led the just man, this fugitive of his brother’s wrath, by the right ways, and revealed to him the kingdom of God, and gave him the knowledge of holiness, honored him in his labors, and completed his labors.11Cuando querían sorprenderle con sus fraudes, ella le asistió y le hizo rico. In the midst of encircling deceit, she flowed around him and made him honest.12Le guardó de los enemigos y le defendió de los seductores, e le hizo salir vencedor en la gran lucha, a fin de que conociese que de todas las cosas la más poderosa es la sabiduría. She guarded him from his enemies, and she defended him from seducers, and she gave him a strong conflict so that he might overcome and might know that the power of all things is wisdom.13Esta misma no desamparó al justo vendido; antes le libró de los pecadores, y descendió con él a la mazmorra; She did not abandon the just man when he was sold, but freed him from sinners; she went down with him into the pit,14ni le desamparó en las prisiones, sino que le dio el bastón del reino, y el poder contra aquellos que le oprimían; convenció de mentirosos a los que le habían infamado, y le procuró una gloria eterna. and she did not abandon him in chains, while she brought him the scepter of the kingdom and power against those who oppressed him, and revealed them to be liars who had dishonored him, and gave him everlasting glory.15Esta libró al pueblo justo, y al linaje irreprensible, de las naciones que la oprimían; She freed this just people and the blameless offspring, from the nations that had oppressed them.16entrándose en el alma del siervo de Dios, el cual contrastó a reyes formidables, a fuerza de portentos y milagros. She entered the soul of the servant of God and stood against dreadful kings in the midst of portents and signs,17Esta les dio a los justos el galardón de sus trabajos, y los condujo por sendas maravillosas; les sirvió de toldo durante el día, y de luz de estrellas por la noche. and she rendered to the just the wages of their labors, and led them along a wondrous way; and she was to them, like a cover by day, and like the light of the stars by night.18Los pasó por el Mar Rojo a la otra orilla, y los fue guiando entre montañas de aguas. She carried them through the Red Sea, and led them across a great water.19A sus enemigos los sumergió en el mar, pero a ellos los retiró del profundo abismo. Así los justos se llevaron los despojos de los impíos; But their enemies, she submerged in the sea, and from the furthest depths, she drew them up. Therefore, the just carried off the spoils of the impious.20y celebraron con cánticos, oh Señor, tu santo nombre, And they chanted to your holy name, Lord, and they together praised your victorious hand,21alabando todos a una tu diestra vencedora. Porque la sabiduría abrió la boca de los mudos, e hizo elocuentes las lenguas de los niños. because wisdom opened the mouth of the mute, and made the speech of infants eloquent.
